The pinnacle of the C126 series, the 560 SEC remains one of the most beautiful coupés in Mercedes-Benz history. Its 5.6L V8 engine delivers outstanding performance, while its timeless bodywork, designed by Bruno Sacco, is pure perfection: it is the symbol of German refinement in the 1980s!
Our model was delivered by Mercedes-Benz Hamburg in August 1987 in this elegant combination of Smoke Silver Metallic (702U) with an Anthracite leather interior (271). Crucially, the car has the rare 822 option, boosting the power of its V8 to 300 hp. In November 1989, the car was registered in Italy, before returning to France in 2016 with 106,000 km on the clock. Today, it is in extremely rare condition: most of the paintwork is original (the rear section has been repainted, measurements available on request), and the upholstery, also original, is in perfect condition.
During our test drive, we were struck by the overall quality of the car and its condition. The two previous owners had covered many expenses, resulting in the car’s current condition! In June 2024, the car joined the collection of its current owner, who drove it only a few kilometres before deciding to part with it. The value of the 560 SEC has risen in recent years, regularly exceeding the €30,000 mark! This high-quality example is being offered at a very attractive estimate... Don’t miss out!

An absolutely bizarre spot. Not only can you spot 163-1 and 163-2 in the same picture, but seeing an older S-Class being used as a diplomatic vehicle, especially from a country like Tajikistan, is an interesting spot.

It is a famous place in China for car spotters.
In Binhai - the harbour of Tianjin - there is a place where are abandoned about 40 vehicles since a long time.
Apparently, these vehicles were confiscated by Chinese customs for illegal importation.
Main of these cars are Mercedes-Benz S-Class V126 but there are also some Cadillac, Lincoln, Nissan, Toyota, some BMW E23, one Rolls-Royce, etc ...

Here's how I plan to do the grills on my S class (most of it is stolen from Teunis...thanks mate!). There will be six of these grill units along the body of the S class. Given the weird spacing, most will not be attached, but will be trapped in place by the body and roof. The plates holding the flags trap the clips holding the bars so they can't move upwards.

Like many Bulgarian places, this one's carrying a Tutkish name as well, meaning "small bazar/market". It's located in central Bulgaria and it's cool to see a larger car like this one from abroad in Berlin.

Yeah you're eyes does not deceive you, I really uploaded a picture after quite a while ;). I wrote my last exam for this semester last Friday so I finally have time for photography again. So I went out in the city and took some shots. I saw this line up just behind the Brandenburger Tor and I thought that all these beautiful black S-Classes really look great at this location.
Unfortunately the lens flare isn't real but I think thats OK. Took me about to 3 hours of editing to get this picture. Sorry for the pretty poor cloning on the right. There was way to much going on.

When I was younger, I quite fancied the idea of having a W108/109. Not just any, but the rather nice, 280 SE 3.5 with a 200 hp V8.
At the time, they were worth about $6,000. Which was, unfortunately, about $6,000 more than I had. I had also been cautioned, that running a 25 year old Mercedes-Benz, low-volume V8 was probably pretty expensive as well. Having just looked them up, they are now worth about $35,000, though they are now an additional 30 years old and have probably cost a lot of money to keep them running that long.
Still, lovely. The range launched in 1965, initially with a 2.5 L inline-six, producing 130 PS in the carburettor 250S, of 150 PS in the injected 250 SE. A larger engined 3.0L was fitted to the W109 300SE/SEL, which used air suspension. In this application, the engine produced 170 PS.
In 1967 the 2.8L replaced the 2.5L lifting power to 140 PS and 160 PS for the 280 S and 280 SE respectively, while the 3.5L v8 also joined the range at this time.
Those crazy people who wanted a lot more go, could, from 1966, buy the limited volume 300 SEL 6.3, with the 250 PS / 500 Nm V8 from the flagship W100 600 model. These are probably worth most of $100 K these days.
Key appeal to this kind of car isn't the speed, but the style. 5.0m long, wide, glassy cabins, leather and wood, plenty of space, and plenty of class. There was one down the road from my house even, a pale blue 250 S, which gracefully glided down the street.

W109
1965 - 1972
