I also gave it an equalized and an embossed technique, in addition to rotating my image, touching it up and giving it an "expressive" effect.

Rocking Red White Blue Roadside Apollo Beach Home Driveway - IMRAN™
Rocking the red, white, and blue shirt I bought, ironically in the state that is always threatening to secede from the Union and elects slime-like Ted Cruz, Texas. Celebrating the start of somewhat more normalcy in the United States since the November 2020 election, and a safe Independence Day 2021. The best is yet to come.
Of course, there are always clouds on most horizons. But I always look up to see the brightness that even impending hurricanes cannot overcome. As hurricane Elsa approaches the west coast of Florida, with its projected path right over my home, I am staying firmly planted to face the future with confidence, hope, and gratitude. Like all storms, this too shall pass. Stay safe, stay strong, stay smiling.
As I often have to, I added my name in the photo because of the sheer number of sons of pig fathers and monkey mothers sleazy scammers who steal photos and posts of mine. They create fake profiles to scam unsuspecting women, some of whom found me later and told me how they were scammed. Facebook does not care about stopping scammers.

After being very annoyed that this scrawny little tree was in the way of many of my shots for what I think was years, he finally "grew" on me. Pun intended, but also a true comment. I named the hill after him, Scrawny Tree Hill, and really started enjoying him.

For Dave C. and other Flickr friends too, I see the *soul* of this photograph being that the silhouettes were cool and the the sunset colors were pretty natural. I didn't have to do much to this picture to make it pretty. It was awesome when I got there.

If you like my word "rainting" I would appreciate it if you would go to Urban Dictionary and vote in the square for thumb's up. Even if it only got 5 or 10 thumb's up and no thumbs down, I would appreciate it. I don't think it has any certain amount it has to get to be in their dictionary. In fact, if I read it correctly, it already got approved and is in.
I don't like to put live links too often but here is a link you can use, I think. There is no prize either, just bragging rights to have a word I coined make it into a dictionary. ;o)

Our Craigslist "Nigerian Dictator" scammer sent me his counterfeit check -- a whopping $2950 for a $200 loveseat.
The essence of this scam is that the scammer's check is a counterfeit. The scam is based on the assumption that I will cash the $2950 check, then refund the $2750 difference to the scammer via Moneygram *before* my bank identifies his check as a fake. In a few weeks, the bank would deduct the $2950 from my account balance after the check was deemed invalid, but the $2750 I sent to the scammer via the Moneygram would be gone forever.
Based on what I've read, the check is probably drawn from a real account, but the piece of paper itself is a fake. For that reason, I've blurred the account numbers in the image.
U1A1: Feedback
I took this photo last night in Chinatown, London. The subject is one of them Pedicab lads (don’t use them, they are known scammers), it’s not the best photo, but I thought it might look decent with the lights of bike and the lanterns in the background, just as a kind of travel photo (I’m trying to get used to just always having my camera with me and snapping away at things I see), but what concerns me are all the lights are blurred or giving off a “star” effect, from the lights on the bike to the lamps on the building. I shot this on a Sony a6400 with the kit lens set to auto, I used to use my Nikon 3300 on auto, but it never made the lights go like that.
I noticed most of the photos I took last night had this effect with the lights, I mostly used my 3300 on auto, only difference I can see is ISO is also set to auto on this Sony.
I did press “auto edit” in LR to brighten up the photo, but the light effect was there in camera.
I’m too inexperienced to know what is causing the lights to give the “star” effect.
Thanks for any help as always 👍

Happy Sliders' Sunday!
Anna just turned 3, but this is her 4th Christmas. She wasn't timid or fearful at all. She practically jogged over to see Santa and sit on his lap. She was first in line...I saw to that. LOL This was the first Christmas where she got the drift of telling Santa Claus what she wanted. She wants 3 yo-yos. Go figure!

He is one of my friend's two kittens. He is bigger and slightly older than the other one, and they are different breeds, both beautiful in their own way. This one is half Ragdoll and the other half, I'm not sure of, but think is Flame Point Birman. You can't really tell in this particular shot, but his eyes are a gorgeous blue. Whatever he is, he is a beautiful, smart, sweetie.
Ever have a horribly stressful day? Of course. Too many of us have plenty of them, regardless of an abundance of blessings. Today was one of those days for me, ranging from overflowing toilets to online scammers and more. So, when I got a break after six hours of crap, I grabbed my X-T2 and a recently purchased (used and beat-up) Fuji 35mm 1.4 lens. Walking outside, I took a generic pic of an empty pot in our yard. The pic is nothing to brag about, but it was therapy. We all take photos for enjoyment, and sometimes the process can help offset the stress we face. When I returned to the house a few moments later, I had a fresher attitude towards all the chaos, and I thank photography for making this happen.

The map is only approximate. Generally, I don't like to put private homes exactly located. However, Flickr has it wrong anyway. It is not Glenwood area.
Best viewed at least a little bit large to enjoy the watercolor effect that I *slid* onto my regular photo.
I put the general idea of location on Flickr's map, but their maps are oftentimes screwball; so it is not precise.

If I say so myself that is a perfect little profile, nice and clear as if I posed her. The young looking cat was just wandering along, oblivious to me in my truck. He/she stopped for a quick break and then on the way again.

ABOUT RAINTINGS
Rainting is a word I coined describing a painterly effect, achieved by photographing the subject through glass that is being rained on, like a windshield or other. It achieves an oftentimes pretty or soft flowing effect, and sometimes other-worldly. It is usually creative, fun, and fluid, seldom harsh in my opinion. I have an album of them on Flickr. Rainting is already in "The Urban Dictionary" but I would like it to also be in a more sophisticated/educational type of dictionary. I started a public Flickr group of Raintings on New Year's Day 2020.
The more collegiate type of dictionaries say that the word has to actually be used by people before they're likely to publish it. So if you like the word and my idea, say it loud and say it clear and take a few Raintings and post them to my new group. There are no comments required, although most people like to receive them. Using my word and trying my new group are not inclusive of one another.

For Dave C. and other Flickr friends, I think the *soul* of this photo is the fun I had sliding it in addition to the sliding that comes with the territory of Raintings. I said Mrs. and Mr., which seems a bit awkward compared to the usual Mr. and Mrs., but the Lightling on the left seemed like the more feminine one. That's it; Lightlings are fun, Raintings are fun and having Flickr friends is fun. It's all good, all fun!
A friend thought this may have been vehicle lights in front of mine, but I explained it more in my reply to her, but also up here.
... besides me in my truck and rain (sometimes faux rain) on my windshield; though I have photographed many vehicle lights in front of me and/or hundreds of neon signs, scads of times, this was not a vehicle. It was the back side of a Burger King drive-up menu board. I wasn't in the drive-up line, but in a tiny parking lot next to it. They tend to frown on you taking pictures in the real line, as people just want their food..... I was merely hungry for some cool images. This was a Rainting, and when anthropomorphic creatures appear in my Raintings, I call them Lightlings.

This particular image has what I call a Faux Rainting effect. It wasn't actually raining; just a spray bottle of water on my truck window. I'll put it in my new Raintings group, but eventually I'll try to label the ones that didn't actually use *real* rain. The majority will be real rain, as that is what I used to take my beginning "Raintings" when hadn't yet thought of a name for what I described above. And that is why I rhymed my word of Rainting with Painting. My State of Oregon USA is known for lots of rain; so I shouldn't have to resort to Faux Rainting too often (grin).

ABOUT LIGHTLINGS
Lightling is an even newer word I coined to name the odd little sort of anthropomorphic characters that sometimes appear in my images when doing a Rainting. They come in many sizes, shapes and colors and often times have what appear to be various facial expressions. In school we may have learned that a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square. Well Raintings can exist without Lightlings in the scene, but Lightlings cannot exist without a Rainting.

This was a very real reflection of a building and bare trees with lovely blue sky and hint of clouds in distance. I enhanced it, cropped it, rotated it upside down, and embossed it and so on. Originally my feet were in one end of the puddle (not very deep).

For the *Soul* of the photo, the soul is that I was willing to stand in a couple of inches of water to get a picture reflection, knowing that later on I would rotate it and enhance it some. I was willing to see art on the wet ground (by my parking spot) that most people never noticed.
For the "If These Walls Could Talk" they might say that lady is nuts. Last fall she was happy enough to photograph our vines and patterns, but now she stands in water and avoids some of the leaves and litter and photographs our reflection, only to go home and fix us up and turn us upside down so that we're right-side-up again. Aaaargh! Yep, that is what they would say!

This is very close to SOOC. I just used a small amount of bright and contrast on it and cropped off a tiny bit from bottom and right side where I think my truck passenger side mirror had gotten in the way. Otherwise, this was all through my windshield with rain in a total downpour.
