For Dave C. and other Flickr friends, I believe this is a Red-Tail Hawk and a Douglas fir Tree in a hard rain, but I'm not 100% positive on either. The *soul* for me is that usually when I got really close, they flew away, but this one continued to sit in the pouring rain.

For years seniors have been taken advantage of through telephone or in person scammers. The Eavestrough Scam has been around for more than a decade now. We have educated ourselves on scam calls, emails etc. but sadly some people are still vulnerable to these scam artists.
When I saw the Zombie Bird checking our our eavestroughs all I could think of was he was going to try to scam me into cleaning them for an astronomical price and then never follow through like the scammers - of course, his price would just be all the bird seed :-)

I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my little space here on Flickr.
The hammock area is little bit small for him, but that didn't keep him from trying to get in it. My friend got him and her other cat a really tall, 3 tier, 3 tent type, 4 platform and 3 ladder type cat apartment. It's like cat's condo/high-rise.

I made several efforts to remove this from the Favorites: 10 pool because it has now reached Favorites: 15. First Flickr just wouldn't do it. Then I got a little note from Flickr saying I couldn't remove it because I wasn't a member of it. Then when I tried again the Flickr pink & blue balls started not only moving, but multiplying. So I gave up. Arrrgh!
ABOUT RAINTINGS
Rainting is a word I coined describing a painterly effect, achieved by photographing the subject through glass that is being rained on, like a windshield or other. It achieves an oftentimes pretty or soft flowing effect, and sometimes other-worldly. It is usually creative, fun, and fluid, seldom harsh in my opinion. I have an album of them on Flickr. Rainting is already in "The Urban Dictionary" but I would like it to also be in a more sophisticated/educational type of dictionary. I started a public Flickr group of Raintings on New Year's Day 2020.
The more collegiate type of dictionaries say that the word has to actually be used by people before they're likely to publish it. So if you like the word and my idea, say it loud and say it clear and take a few Raintings and post them to my new group. Using my word and trying my new group are not inclusive of one another.

This began life as an actual photograph I took of bare root trees for sale. The price tags and identification tags of what kind of tree they were had struck my fancy. That was in 2012. On June 12, 2016, I decided to give it two different photo programs and make it more painterly or artsy for Sliders Sunday. So, this version was created (slid) today. I did it from a screen shot, but the screen shot was of my own work.
For Dave C. and other Flickr friends too, I think the *soul* of these Raintings and Lightlings is they are so colorful and fun and unique in the whole world.

Was a Nikon shot, but then I ran it through a photo program, and it lost its EXIF Data. Original was a Nikon Coolpix L820 image taken on February 18, 2018 and then *slid* for Sliders Sunday group on about January 5, 2020.

You see, this is the most advanced and technical digital camera I have ever had. It is pretty far beyond my technical ability, but I am learning bits and pieces each day.
I put this in both my Nikon Coolpix L820 album and my Pentax K-S2 album, because though the subject is the Pentax, the camera I used to take the picture of the Pentax was my Nikon.

Asia is an older kitten than As a Button (or Asabutton) but still a kitten. They are stalking a fly, the younger kitten learning from observing the older one. I shot this image through a window; so there are some blemishes, but I like it anyway. My new friend will most likely tell me if a Asia is a blue-eyed Flame Point something??? kitten, or what. As a Button (Asabutton) is a Silver Chinchilla Persian. The are both strikingly beautiful kittens.
I'm posting this for my new friend. I'm sure if I have her gorgeous kitten's name incorrectly or the name of the breed, that she will tell me. ;o) She told me today that she will probably name him Star instead of As a Button.

The *soul of this picture is that it was a nice way to end my day of photographing fireplaces and chimneys that were about the only thing left of people's homes after the horrible fires we have had lately, Not just my State of Oregon, but California and Washington too.

This has several photo techniques on it. The first, a rainting, is right out of my camera, but through a window with rain on it. That is not really a post processing technique but merely choosing a way to shoot the picture. I coined the word "Rainting." Then the foggy sky was dreadfully dull; so I used an equalizing technique. That made the sky more interesting, but just about washed out *Scrawny* the little tree I named and then named the hill after. So I did some pen technique on the tree in black, but I don't have the steadiest hand in the world; so it was kind of too wide with the lines and too jumpy from point to point.. I used a light marker technique to soften the lines I drew for the tree, but leave them still evident. I embossed the whole photo,

To my fellow photographers... Raise your hand if you have ever spent hours trying to correct/fix something on one of your photos that you don't know how to do very well. Most likely no one would notice the *MISTAKE* nor care anyway, but NO, you sit in the hot weather where your air conditioning is either too cold or not cold enough in cycles just enough to make you really irritable. You're obsessed with fixing your picture! You could be posting ten new things that are fine without adjustment, but NOoooooo.
Now maybe with Google Earth, I might be able to see you raising your hand, if you stand on the roof of your home, but mostly I'll just have to take your word for it. I'm curious how many Flickrites are going to confess to this.
Later on, I might tell you, in order of unimportance, the 2 or 3 things I obsessed over. We could all use a good laugh right now, right?

The Witcher (and scammer) captures the light and magic of the Eiffel Tower in his miniature souvenir towers.
This began life as a Rainting of part of the roof of a famous chain restaurant. The shutter didn't go off particularly well; so on the SD card the image looked almost solid black. I enhanced the black rectangle to see if there was anything worth saving, and one part of it was kind of cool. I copied that part and then rotated the original and pasted it in so it was the opposite of an exact mirror image but similar. I enhanced some of the coloring, gave it a scratch removal technique, sharpened it and gave it an oil paint 5 technique. I think it is kind of cool for what looked hopeless at first.
For Dave C. and other Flickr friends, that's the *soul* of this one.

I didn't take this picture. My son did, but he said, since I liked it so much, I could post it for him. I will let him know what kinds of comments or faves it gets.
I like this a lot. Individually, the broken glass and graffiti are not very pretty, but when all put together with the shapes and textures, plants and the nice light coming through, it is quite an artistic piece. It's urban decay and vandalism, but pleasantly packaged as a whole.

This is a composite of two raintings I did. I then gave the composite a moderately secret technique I use sometimes, and some saturation. It ends up sort of painterly/slid looking for Sliders Sunday.

These two rainting in my composite were taken of primarily the traffic, traffic lights and commercial buildings at the corner of Main Street, Hwy. 126, and the (former Governor) Bob Straub Parkway in Springfield, Lane County, Oregon.
Both shots were taken recently with my Nikon Coolpix B500RED camera, but the EXIF Data often disappears when I *dink around* with my photos.

This version of this row of trees at sunset and with rain is not exactly a Van Gogh, but I'm putting it in my "Not Exactly (album)" For the "In the style of... / Inspired by... / Influenced by... group, I feel I worked at getting it Van Gogh like.

For Sliders Sunday group: The nature of most of my Raintings is they look slid when they come out of my camera. However, I did some additional work to this shot, with some hue and saturation, heavy sharp, brightness and contrast, touch-up, and scratch removal. While not exactly Van Gogh, I think it is kind of cool. HSS
I think they are glorious. Autumn is my favorite season. My birthday is in autumn might be one reason why.

The bridge in the distance with all the diagonal lines was lighted up Green. The large black area was a 3, 4 or 5 story freeway. I was in Portland for a hospital stay, and I do not know the names for these places.
For Dave C. and other Flickr friends, the *soul* of this picture was me being in a strange location, kind of nervous, and taking pictures anyway.
