This is the Tavor SAR, which many considerate to be the most technologically advanced rifle in the world. Until just a couple of months ago, it was unavailable in the United States. Israeli Weapons Industries (IWI) recently finished its manufacturing facility in Harrisburg Pennsylvania and the one pictured is one of the first of them to be sold in the US. Its unique design differs from the traditional AR-15 rifle in that the magazine is located behind the trigger. This is referred to as a bullpup configuration and it allows the rifle to be much shorter as the barrel begins near the shoulder. The net result is a shorter rifle that still meets the minimum 16-inch legal barrel length. While this rifle was designed to be short in order to allow for easy maneuverability many claim that it has the accuracy of a sniper rifle.
