One of Cuxhaven's oldest ships was the rescue cruiser "HERMANN HELMS". For 32 years, it ensured safety in the busy Elbe estuary from Cux. Since her commissioning in 1985, the HERMANN HELMS has completed more than 2,500 missions and several thousand inspection trips.
