L'origine de ce paysage remonte à environ 40 millions d'années lorsque la plaine de l'Emblavez et le bassin du Puy constituaient un immense lac.

Bundala National Park is an internationally important wintering ground for migratory water birds in Sri Lanka. Bundala harbors 197 species of birds, Bundala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1969 and redesignated to a national park on 4 January 1993In 1991 Bundala became the first wetland to be declared as a Ramsar site in Sri Lanka. In 2005 the national park was designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO, the fourth biosphere reserve in Sri Lanka. The national park contains five shallow, brackish lagoons with salt pans in three.

The Eureka Dunes lie in the remote Eureka Valley, an enclosed basin at 3000 foot elevation located northwest of Death Valley, they are the tallest sand dunes in California, the tallest in all of North America. They rise suddenly more than 680 feet above the dry lakebed at their western base.
© 2011 Todd Tobey....This was taken a little earlier the same evening as my previous post. You can see the piece of driftwood that I used as foreground interest for my last shot. Just love the patterns in the sand created by wind and water. The light was really nice too. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
