Deadvlei, Sossusvlei, Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia
This photograph features one of the dunes which snake along the edge of the Deadvlei pan in Namibia. The Sossusvlei region is one of the sunniest places on earth and temperatures in January reach in excess of 40c. The heat is so extreme that visits to the area are made at dawn, which provides the best lighting conditions. The colours change quickly; from red to orange to yellow depending on the light and the hour.
Life is like sand, whoever passes by leaves their footprints on it. The wind drags it away and changes its shape, but nothing is lost if we keep the memories we have in our hearts tight in our minds.
Today we start looking at some aspects of life and leisure in Bridport. This little town of 1,600 people sits on the north east coast of Tasmania. To the north is Bass Strait. To the north east is Flinders Island.
In summer its numbers swell as holiday makers enjoy the beaches, the boating and the golf courses. The Barnbougle Golf Links provide two outstanding links courses, The Dunes and Lost Farm. Both have been listed by Gold Digest Magazine as in the top 100 courses in the world. It is now the main tourist attraction in the area. We'll come to those later.
But for the next few days we'll take a look at the boating side of Bridport, both for work and play.

52 Week Theme Challenge:
38:52, Tell a story using a mirror
My take on the theme (and well I didn't have the creative brain to do anything else)! Zoom to the eyes - this is my story:)
I've been watching these lovely birds for weeks. All this time in the sandy muck and they still look fabulous! Their grooming habits are fabulously fun to watch, much more fun than watching a human in front of a mirror ;D
Be well everyone! And oh so many thanks for the visit:)
