This ornament is 3 1/2" in diameter, and made of hollow ceramic. It's lightweight, but not like glass, so it will need a sturdy branch to hang from if you use it on a tree. I've decorated it with black freeform vines and leaves, and accented it with a band and finial of mossy green. It has been fired to cone 06, and is initialed and dated on the bottom by the artist . R-109 is referred to by some local residents as “Wisconsin’s Everglades” because the road runs through a large complex
of coastal wetlands that ultimately connect to the Oconto Marsh.

Located south of Mammoth in Yellowstone National park, this waterfall is right alongside the road. I find pictures of flowing water interesting, and found myself experimenting a lot with this style while on the trip. This is what brought out this point on the falls, where the water didn't just flow along the rocks, it impacted and bounced off in large arcs. My only regret, I was so focused on photographing this point that I didn't think to move it slightly to the right to show more of the falls. Oh well.

R-118 begins in the historic logging town of Wabeno and travels through Native American lands and crosses several creeks.

The Bristlecone Pine Scenic Area lies just below treeline on Mt. Bross and is a favorite location for photographers, artists, and those that just love hiking and taking in the views. Bristlecone Pines are native to the Rocky Mountains and are thousands of years old. For a driving adventure, take a drive up Buckskin Gulch all the way to Kite Lake, past rements of the mining days, such as the arastra, Paris Mill and visible high on the bluffs overlooking Buckskin Creek, the Hungry Five Mine with buildings still clinging to the sheer rock. For a relaxing change of pace try fly-fishing on the Middle Fork of the South Platte River or angling on the shore at Montgomery Reservoir.

R-58 skirts scenic Northwoods’ lakes while wandering through thick pine and hardwood forests. This route crosses a railroad bed used in the 1800s as a main line to Minocqua. It has been converted to the Bearskin State Trail for hiking and bicycling. This route intersects with the Tomahawk River and two small creeks, through cedar lowlands and dense pine and hardwood forests.

During a stroll in the wood it's possible to get a glimpse of some rustic structure immersed in a fog of low clouds. This scenary creates an evocative and at the same time spooky atmosphere.
