Happy Fence Friday and have a sunny, bright Day!

I drove past this several times, but the sun was always on the wrong side. Finally my husband and I were driving past it early in the day and I was able to get a shot without being shaded.

Thanks for views, comments and favs :)

Fermo e Rustico

The Pipo River and Its Surroundings in Tierra del Fuego National Park

In Tierra del Fuego National Park, near Ushuaia —known as the southernmost city in the world—, the Pipo River winds through forests that burst into vibrant colors during autumn. The characteristic trees of this sub-Antarctic region, such as the lenga (Nothofagus pumilio), guindo (Nothofagus betuloides), and ñire (Nothofagus antarctica), stand out for their autumn foliage, displaying shades of golden yellow, bright orange, and deep red. Fallen leaves cover the ground like a multicolored carpet, contrasting with the grayish tones of the mountains and the ever-changing Patagonian sky.

The Pipo River, with its cold and transparent waters, is a central feature of this landscape. After flowing through valleys and skirting ancient trees, its course narrows between rocks covered in green moss until, surprisingly, the river disappears into the mountain. In this area, the water rushes forcefully through narrow passages between rocky walls, creating a unique visual and auditory experience. The roar of the river echoing through the gorges blends with the crunch of dry leaves and the sound of wind rustling through the branches of the lenga, guindo, and ñire trees.

This natural environment near Ushuaia exemplifies the ephemeral beauty of autumn, where life cycles prepare for winter. The interaction between the river, which shapes the terrain with its constant flow, and the forests of lenga, guindo, and ñire creates a setting where geography and vegetation combine to form a singular and memorable landscape.

As I said in a previous picture there is a rural nature to this part of the city and it is a bit less well developed than others. I hope the price of progress isn't losing places like this along the way. Note the extra large TV just dumped on the doorstep

Some rural rustic-ness out the back of Mangaweka. An old farm gate and fence with the snowy Ruahine Ranges in the far distance. Not sure what use the gate would be with the large tree behind it!
