To commemorate 100 years since the founding of the Devon General Omnibus & Touring Company in 1919, a bus rally and running day was held at Newton Abbot Racecourse on Sunday 4th August 2019. The event was well-attended by enthusiasts and the general public, and numerous vehicles were on display, mainly former Devon General buses but also featuring vehicles from other fleets in the South West and further afield. The event was well supported by local enthusiast groups and by Stagecoach South West, the successors to Devon General, who had a number of their own vehicles and staff in attendance.
I might not have a uniform, but I've borrowed a ticket machine and made an effort with a badge! It will be printed on card and laminated.

In March 2019 the Amersham & District Motorbus Society held a classic bus running day to commemorate 40 years since the withdrawal of London Transport's last RF buses back in March 1979. The last two routes operated were the 218 & 219 from Kingston depot and they provided a frequent service from Kingston and Staines/Weybridge.
At the 2019 event my shots were taken in Kingston Cromwell Road bus station, Weybridge The Heights, and Staines bus station.

In Sutton Coldfield Parade, BMMO S22 5905 (PHA505G). The Parade is a difficult place for afternoon photography, because buses facing Lichfield are back lit, hence the HDR approach to getting a reasonable balance between light and dark. I may have gone too far with this one!

The Running Day was supported by Stagecoach South West, the successors to Devon general, and they brought the story up to date by displaying ADL Enviro400 no. 19324, one of the buses which currently operates route 2 and which carries the "Hop 2" branding for the route. Stagecoach also made sure plenty of publicity and timetables were available for holidaymakers (and therefore prospective customers) in the area!

On Sunday 31st May 2015 the Devon General Omnibus Trust (DGOT) organised a running day based on Teignmouth Sea Front, as part of the 2015 Teignmouth Heritage Transport & Bike Festival.
The event commemorated 35 years since the end of crew operation on the busy route 2 (Exeter - Dawlish - Teignmouth - Newton Abbot). Buses of varying vintages, mostly from the former Devon General and the neighbouring Western National fleets, offered free rides between Teignmouth and Dawlish Warren, and along the Teign Valley. Several other buses were also on display at Teignmouth. The event was supported by Stagecoach South West, who acquired Devon General in 2003 and had present one of the ADL Enviro400s that operate route 2 today.
