Well, the zombie apocalypse has begun.
Amazing what a couple hours in photoshop and lightroom can get you. I'm really wanting to put together some more stylish type images. Of course this one is a little the top but it's really good practice in PS. Probably my creepiest self-portrait. Tell me what you guys think.

Oblation Run 2019 highlights fight for democracy, freedom of expression

This year’s Oblation Run highlighted the Filipino people’s fight for democracy and called for the defense of freedom of expression amid worsening attacks on media and various sectors critical of the policies of the Rodrigo Duterte administration.
Led by the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) Fraternity - Eta Chapter, the APO Fraternity’s University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) Chapter, the naked runners wore masks with covered mouths while carrying blank wooden placards as they staged their annual tradition at the UP Diliman Palma Hall. An LCD screen featured videos and photos of known UP personalities and leaders holding placards with the various messages and demands being campaigned for by their respective sectors. Among them were UP Faculty Regent Bomen Guillermo, UP Student Regent Ivy Taroma, UPD Chancellor Michael Tan, All UP Academic Employees Union national president Carl Ramota, and journalist and newly-appointed United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) National Goodwill Ambassador Atom Araullo.
According to the APO spokespersons, the masks and placards symbolize their calls, and the Oblation Run, a tradition that began in 1977 during the Marcos dictatorship as an effective form of protest, amplifies the people’s demands and issues. They also called on the public to become more vigilant, critical, and involved in people’s issues in order to bring about social justice, freedom and progress for all.

Children are not the people of tomorrow, but are people of today. They have a right to be taken seriously, and to be treated with tenderness and respect. They should be allowed to grow into whoever they were meant to be. ‘The unknown person’ inside each of them is our hope for the future.(cit)
It was great to walk around the streets of Downtown Mazatlan and experience the bright colors and textures of this friendly city. love the look of the bricks exposed through the worn cement on this seemingly forgotten building.
This was a shot I got at the fountain the weekend before last as kids and adults were playing in the water at the science center. It was a little odd watching a grown man stop and take off his clothes and take a shower with so many people around.... Ok it was really odd. I am never suprised about being suprised in Seattle when I am people watching.

The Lidl Run Kildare Events 2013 were held at the Curragh Racecourse, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 12th May 2013. There were three events: a 10KM, a half marathon, and a full marathon. This is a selection of photographs which includes all events. The photographs are taken from the start and finish of the marathon, the finish of the 10KM, and the finish of the half marathon. Due to the large numbers participating we did not manage to photograph everyone - which was not helped by the weather. Congratulations to Jo Cawley and her RunKildare crew for another great event. The weather didn't dampen the spirits of the many happy participants.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There were approximately 3,000 participants over the 3 race events - there were runners, joggers, and walkers participating.
Weather: A cold breezy morning with heavy rain at the start. The weather dried up for the 10KM and the Half Marathon races
Course: This is an undulating course with some good flat stretches on the Curragh.

Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Call it elegance, eccentricity or exhibitionism. In fact call it whatever you like as long as you cloak it in swathes of beautiful tweed fabric.
This is the Tweed Run 2016, a jolly ride around London for some pretty colourful characters who exhibited a real sense of cheer and general bonhomie. My good friend Michael came up with the idea of us paying it a visit. This fits in entirely with our enjoyment of shooting portraits of interesting people who are happy to have their photos taken (this being quite important for those like me in the early stages of their portrait photography learning curve !!)
Apparently this was the eighth running (or riding ?) of the Tweed Run, and they were lucky with the weather, it being a generally bright day with light wind.
My normal idea of a beautiful bike is a Campagnolo equipped Colnago, but I could certainly appreciate the incredible machines being ridden, many of which had clearly been the subject of much love and attention.
Thank you to all those who stopped and smiled. It had been a difficult day, mainly consisting of our trying to find out where on earth the group were meeting up, the route, and the finish ! I do hope that in future years this information gets published more widely as I would certainly enjoy coming back for more.

The Annual Steens Rim Run & Walk – better known as the "Rim Run" – is a race unlike any other in the Pacific Northwest. With its high elevation, stunning views and scenery, unpredictable climate, and near-steady climb from start to finish, the Rim Run brings a whole new meaning to "challenging 10K." Each year, the first Saturday in August, nearly 200 participants make the trek out to remote Steens Mountain in southeast Oregon for the race.
The Rim Run began in 1983 when local Mary Otley decided "the Steens would be a great place to have a road run." Otley gathered a few dozen participants for the first race and began a tradition spanning over a quarter century to date. Another local, Gordon Black, kept the race going from 1984 through the remainder of the decade, gathering more participants each year and changing the course in its third season. In its first two years, the race ended at the Wildhorse parking area. Now, finishers have a tough climb at the end, crossing the finish line just below Steens Summit at the East Rim Overlook. In 1987, the Rim Run became the "Chris Miller Memorial Steens Rim Run & Walk" in honor of a local teen who loved running and Steens Mountain in ample, equal doses. Miller's parents Gary and Jill took over planning and coordination of the event around 1990 and have recently passed the leadership to son Nick and daughter Mandi.
The Rim Run continues to be a favorite 10K for racers across the U.S. Couples, families, running clubs, friends, singles, and many others look forward to the race every year – many seeking a new challenge with true high elevation running, several out for the exercise and great scenery, and still dozens of "regulars" here to support the Millers and the memory of Chris. Come join us!
Course Description
The race starts on the Steens Mountain Loop Road near Jackman Park Campground and finishes at the East Rim Overlook. The 10K course follows the east rim of the Steens Mountain, passing the headwaters of both Fish Creek and the Little Blitzen. As you run along the rim's edge, a number of high mountain views will make the run a memorable experience. The race offers a tremendous challenge starting at an elevation of 7,835 feet and finishing above 9,700 feet.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. "'Run Like Hell' is a song on the Pink Floyd album The Wall. It is preceded by 'In the Flesh' and is followed by 'Waiting for the Worms'. The song is from the point of view of anti-hero Pink during a hallucination, in which he becomes a fascist dictator and turns a concert audience into an angry mob. He sends the mob out to raid nearby neighborhoods that are full of minorities.
The music was written by David Gilmour (one of the three songs on The Wall for which Gilmour wrote music), while the lyrics were by Roger Waters alone. On the record, Waters provided the vocals (except for 'Run, Run', in which Gilmour is lead singer). The song features the only keyboard solo on The Wall (although on live performances, 'Young Lust' and 'Another Brick in the Wall, Part II' would also feature keyboard solos); after the last line of lyrics, a synthesizer apparently takes over Waters' singing. Also in the song are the sound of the mob's maniacal laughter, running footsteps, car tires skidding and a loud scream.
This song was originally much longer, however it had to be cut because of the time limitations on the original vinyl record format. Although the lyrics 'You better run like hell' appear several times in the liner notes, they are never actually heard in the song. Near the end, the same piercing shriek (made by Waters) can be heard, almost identical to that heard during 'The Happiest Days of Our Lives' when seguing into 'Another Brick in the Wall, Part II'.

Saturday turned out to be nice and overcast all day, so I decided to take a stab at getting some snowy photos out at Cub Run. The access road is a windy gravel road and I only have a front wheel drive car, so some may say this wasn't the best idea ever. One of them would be my husband, who I dragged with me. We got there to find the gravel road partially covered in slushy snow. He thought we shouldn't risk it, but I figured what the hell - at least if we got stuck, I'd have plenty of time to photograph the stream!
Luckily, we made it down the road and back without getting stuck. That doesn't mean our trip was uneventful though! Last time I went out to Cub Run with Christine, we didn't see another soul there, which is ideal if you ask me. This time we pulled up to find two men already there fishing, one of whom wanted to be our new best friend. He saw me taking photos and decided to come chat us up. He turned out to be a fairly nice guy, even though he was dressed in camo, missing some teeth, and smelled like cheap beer.
After a nice chat, our new best friend went back to his fishing and I got down to business. There wasn't as much snow on the rocks as I had hoped, but there was still a lot on the steep banks - enough to prevent me from getting to the spots I really wanted to get to. My husband was very helpful and surprisingly patient, considering how cold it was. Apparently his patience has it's limits though. At one point I was lining up a shot, just about to press the shutter when I heard, "Ah! Dammit!", from behind me. I turned around to find my husband, who had been standing right behind me a moment ago, standing in the middle of the stream with his feet in the water. "What the hell are you doing?!", I asked. "I got bored and wanted to see if I could walk out on the rocks", he said. With wet and now freezing feet, he spent the rest of the trip sitting in the car with the heater running.
The Lidl Run Kildare Events 2013 were held at the Curragh Racecourse, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 12th May 2013. There were three events: a 10KM, a half marathon, and a full marathon. This is a selection of photographs which includes all events. The photographs are taken from the start and finish of the marathon, the finish of the 10KM, and the finish of the half marathon. Due to the large numbers participating we did not manage to photograph everyone - which was not helped by the weather. Congratulations to Jo Cawley and her RunKildare crew for another great event. The weather didn't dampen the spirits of the many happy participants.

Participants: There were approximately 3,000 participants over the 3 race events - there were runners, joggers, and walkers participating.
Weather: A cold breezy morning with heavy rain at the start. The weather dried up for the 10KM and the Half Marathon races
Course: This is an undulating course with some good flat stretches on the Curragh.
