Hemlock swamp at the headwaters of Halfway Run, Bald Eagle State Forest, Union County, within the Halfway Run Natural Area.
Halfway Run is a small, fast-flowing stream in a heavily forested mountain valley east of R.B. Winter State Park. Tannins and other dissolved organic acids give the water its rich golden-brown color.
This photo were taken back in March 2012. I am just catching up with them. I had started to put up our trip to Northland but for some reason never got them all up.
The Greatest Tree in New Zealand
The kauri tree, Agathis australis, is New Zealand’s largest and most famous native tree. Located midway between Auckland and the Bay of Islands in the warm north of the country, The Kauri Museum tells some of the stories of this amazing tree.
Far more than a museum of timber, the Museum has stories of the Māori of the north eastern Kaipara, of European pioneers, of foresters and sawmillers, gum diggers and farmers, and of business people, fishers and the families who have made this area their home.

Well, the zombie apocalypse has begun.
Amazing what a couple hours in photoshop and lightroom can get you. I'm really wanting to put together some more stylish type images. Of course this one is a little the top but it's really good practice in PS. Probably my creepiest self-portrait. Tell me what you guys think.

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif – Marines and Sailors competed in the 2015 Commanding General’s Cup Mud Run here, June 12. More than 1.800 Marines and Sailors in groups of five waded through muddy pits, trudged up slippery slopes and swam through thick mud during the race to the finish line. It was great to walk around the streets of Downtown Mazatlan and experience the bright colors and textures of this friendly city. love the look of the bricks exposed through the worn cement on this seemingly forgotten building.
Chapman students participate in Undie Run, an annual event where students meet in the Piazza and run around the Orange Circle. Undie Run is celebrated ever semester halfway through finals week. Photo by Jon Holmquist
This was a shot I got at the fountain the weekend before last as kids and adults were playing in the water at the science center. It was a little odd watching a grown man stop and take off his clothes and take a shower with so many people around.... Ok it was really odd. I am never suprised about being suprised in Seattle when I am people watching.

The Lidl Run Kildare Events 2013 were held at the Curragh Racecourse, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 12th May 2013. There were three events: a 10KM, a half marathon, and a full marathon. This is a selection of photographs which includes all events. The photographs are taken from the start and finish of the marathon, the finish of the 10KM, and the finish of the half marathon. Due to the large numbers participating we did not manage to photograph everyone - which was not helped by the weather. Congratulations to Jo Cawley and her RunKildare crew for another great event. The weather didn't dampen the spirits of the many happy participants.

Overall Race Summary
Participants: There were approximately 3,000 participants over the 3 race events - there were runners, joggers, and walkers participating.
Weather: A cold breezy morning with heavy rain at the start. The weather dried up for the 10KM and the Half Marathon races
Course: This is an undulating course with some good flat stretches on the Curragh.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Whilst it's never going to wow wildlife photographers, I was more than happy to spot this brown hare and actually get a semi alright photo of one.

Call it elegance, eccentricity or exhibitionism. In fact call it whatever you like as long as you cloak it in swathes of beautiful tweed fabric.
This is the Tweed Run 2016, a jolly ride around London for some pretty colourful characters who exhibited a real sense of cheer and general bonhomie. My good friend Michael came up with the idea of us paying it a visit. This fits in entirely with our enjoyment of shooting portraits of interesting people who are happy to have their photos taken (this being quite important for those like me in the early stages of their portrait photography learning curve !!)
Apparently this was the eighth running (or riding ?) of the Tweed Run, and they were lucky with the weather, it being a generally bright day with light wind.
My normal idea of a beautiful bike is a Campagnolo equipped Colnago, but I could certainly appreciate the incredible machines being ridden, many of which had clearly been the subject of much love and attention.
Thank you to all those who stopped and smiled. It had been a difficult day, mainly consisting of our trying to find out where on earth the group were meeting up, the route, and the finish ! I do hope that in future years this information gets published more widely as I would certainly enjoy coming back for more.
