Following a different route along to the coastline of the Buzburon on our way back to Marmaris, was real scenic, quiet and not many tourist we bumped into. I love the evening's fading sunlight plus warm dry air was exhilarating. Wish not to go back yet to Marmaris , but the girls remained there to have easy day in the hotel pool. So we have to get back to them and have our dinner in Marmaris .

Ramon describing the mornings route. Enough description to get us excited about the ride, while holding back the finer details which might put some of us off.
East London route 474: Canning Town, Hermit Road - Manor Park Station
Approaching Beckton Bus Station (D)
Stagecoach London started a new contract to route 474 on 5 May 2018. Existing Alexander Dennis Enviro400s were introduced to cover the delayed new smart hybrids, five of which come with LED displays (11033-38 - pictured, the '474' revealing the common difficulty of catching LED on camera). The first examples of the new buses entered service on 26 July.
I have never been on this route before, so entering the Docklands was like stepping into the future. With automatically operated (ATO) trains in the form of the DLR working overhead surrounded by newly-built accommodation, planes coming out of London City Airport ascending off the runway close by, fresh greenery and the River Thames a picture - it is truly a sight to behold!
The 474 is a great tour of the Docklands and it was good to check it out before it is re-routed between Canning Town and London City Airport - away from North Woolwich Road, via Kier Hardie Estate - in December to coincide with the opening of the Elizabeth Line.

When I took these pictures in March 1973 route 12 had a peak vehicle requirement of 64 buses Mon-Fri, running out of four garages. 19 of these buses were RTs out of Peckham garage. The route seemed to wander over much of London on its way between Norwood Junction and Harlesden, though I doubt if many buses ever performed a through journey, the pattern of operation being completely bewildering! Until the previous year the route had been entirely RT and had continued all the way to South Croydon.
If you think 64 buses on one route is impressive, when the 38 was converted from artics to double-deckers not so long ago, the PVR went up from 42 to 73! And a supposedly financially prudent Tory Mayor was responsible for that rather than Ken Livingstone....
