One of the Iconic Landmarks of Historic Route 66 is the Chain of Rocks Bridge that crosses the Mighty Mississippi. This section of Route 66 leads up to the parking area for the Chain of Rock Bridge. I am on the Illinois side of the river. The Chain of Rocks Bridge is no longer open to vehicle traffic but bicyclists and pedestrians can walk across this historic icon
I've never seen a bus at Cotehele before and the route seems to be a bit of squeeze.

I traveled Route 66 between the Kansas/Oklahoma state line and Oklahoma City. Equipped with a 1961 Road Map and a GPS, i am trying to find the remains of old Route 66

Sunday 26th July 2015 was the day of the first Route 90 VW show at Lathalmond bus garage. As an event it shows lots of promise so good luck to the organizers for the future.
This photograph manipulation came about because of a typo. I was looking through my photos to find one to play with and noticed one titled "Route 666" instead of "Route 66." Nothing dramatic, just a tweak of colors and a number added here and there.

More of the legendary American highway, Route 66 along the Grand Canyon. The fame of the first U.S. highway linking the Atlantic and Pacific coasts was born from the dream to travel to Califonia, made after the American Depression of the decade 30e of the adventures of hippies and bikers after 50 years. With the growth of other routes, the highway was abandoned.
