The curved piece with the arrow is the male form template, it is screwed to the press blank and since you are routing all the way through it is supported by the next blank.
To get good clamping pressure the male and female press forms must match exactly, but they must also be spaced. You cannot just cut through the blank with a jig saw because the male and female forms have to accommodate the shield piles between them, that means the "cut" has to be as wide as the full depth of the shield plus the form liners. The easiest way to do this is to use a router with a template collar seen to the left in this picture and in detail in the next.

I live on cycle route 51, and the mile or so that I do along it several times a day is the journey that I know best in the world.
It is a dramatic journey. Between my house and the centre of Ipswich the route goes through rolling Holywells Park, the most beautiful of all the Ipswich parks. It also goes through the middle of the Ipswich Docklands regeneration, the biggest building site in the east of England.
I began to think that the route marker signs, if taken in conjunction with their immediate surroundings, might tell a story about the route, and about my daily journeys.

This stretch used to be route 66, but no longer exists. Once the interstates were built, the old highway was no longer necessary.
This was my second trip to Whitney. Me and Nick took a regular route to the top. We summit it twice actually within 24 hours hoping to cross over to Russel but packs were too heavy for mountaineer’s route descent. no bueno
