Route leading towards Gwadar leaving coastal views behind us, these giant rocks are like a sleeping giants, gazing us while we pass them.
These territories are well guarded, perfectly safe to visit, it’s a hidden gem of our country, these hills formation are very rare to witness anywhere else in Pakistan.

Travelling over the freight only Woodhead route at 1505hrs between Crowden and Torside level crossing, on a Sunday diversion away from the Hope Valley route, is a Hull Botanic Gardens (BG) based 1960 Swindon built class 123 Trans Pennine dmu with a Hull Paragon-Manchester Piccadilly service.

Boulder, Colorado. The road up to the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) is a favorite bicycling route.

The flemish group which we met a few days before, stayed the night also in the Gappohytta, although in a different building. They left a little bit earlier, we went a little bit faster. Here we are on the white plain and we went through a monochrome landscape in which all colours were taken away.

The relentless pursuit of likes and comments on the Instagram (yes, "the" Instagram) gets me down sometimes, and it's become apparent that the stuff people want to see is not photos of streetcars and ferries and cityscapes (the stuff I like to post); they want to see pictures of people. Or the algorithm is burying posts that don't have people, and pushing posts that do. Or they just want to see pictures of the bébé, and it feels like my art (my photography) doesn't matter anymore.
But I read something yesterday that said to keep making art even when no one cares. So I continue. And people on Flickr seem to like my art, so that's something.
I also remember that it doesn't really give lasting happiness if one of my pics gets a lot more likes than usual. I like when that happens, but it doesn't bring about a lasting sense of satisfaction. I always want more. I am pseudo-addicted to social media and that's the way they want it to be. I bet some of you are, too.
In any case, meaningful comments mean more to me than likes.

With expired Fuji 160ns, color and contrast are very inconsistent. Sometimes it's way too blue or messy cyan. If you see my other pictures they were all minimally processed, only WB, contrast, shadow and hue.
This railway bridge near Rifle Range Road is one of the few places along the former Tanjong Pagar to Woodlands railway route that had its railway tracks preserved as part of the Rail Corridor project.
It is no longer in use as rail service to Malaysia now terminates at Woodlands Train Checkpoint instead of Tanjong Pagar Railway Station.
Another lo-fi film night shot from that first desert night shoot back in 1989. Essex, CA.
Yes, it really is a painted wood Route 66 sign (intentionally shot so the moonlight would enhance the grain). This was a genuine CA DOT highway marker, not some home made tribute sign. I wanted to pinch this, but didn't have proper tools. At the time I didn't really realize how incredibly rare this item was, or I would have tried harder. There are no more original Route 66 signs still on the road. Due to constant theft, they were replaced with painted logos on the highway.
Night, full moon, outdated 160T film, 8 minute exposure. Ambient light only.
On a rather damp Saturday 23 November 2019, London bus route 140 Harrow-Heathrow celebrated its history and marked its imminent shortening by supplementing 15 heritage buses into the existing service. This meant Volvo / Wright Gemini buses (and a solitary Plaxton President) were joined by 8 RTs, 5 Routemasters and 2 Metrobuses for the day.
My visit included photo stops at Hayes, Heathrow and Harrow Weald taking advantage of free rides aboard RM1397, M1069 and RT2177.
