St Anne's Catholic church in Streetly has recently undergone a transformation that has fine tuned the building from a lofty but simple 1950s church hall (originally what this building was intended to be, a grander church was planned nearby but never materialised, thus the 'hall' remained as the church) into a much more obviously ecclesiastical building. The main difference has been the refenestration of the side windows, replacing large rectangular areas of glazing with triplets of round-headed lights to match the single facade window, all attractively finished in brick. The formerly plain east wall has been pierced by a new oculus high up (with a stained glass dove by yours truly) and the ceiling redecorated, along with some minor mural decoration in the apex of the altar wall.
On July 9th my new 'west' window depicting Christ the Redeemer was installed in the main facade and adds a splash of colour to the gallery area over the main entrance.

My push was to stay away from my go to natural light and shoot with an artificial source, even better an image that is still life or planned. Thanks to Linda_Lou2 I tried something I've wanted to for a long time.

First attempt at water splash shot. Totally a learning curve. Don't shoot at night when you need high ISO, don't use a baking pan that says "Pyrex" and has baked on splatters, take a lot, aim your flash carefully, etc. I will try again.
The corner punch can get a little tough after a while, so this job was better suited for Terrell and not my wussy delicate palms.

One of five images, all taken at Eshqua Bog Natural Area in Woodstock, Vermont, USA on June 13, 2023. After meeting Jen one year ago, while viewing Showy Lady's Slippers at the bog, she had invited me to her home for a visit. Although we were a week early for the Showy Lady's Slippers, we had a great time together!.
This is one of the carnivorous plants! It captures small insects in sticky liquid. It was a tiny plant! If someone hadn't pointed it out to me, I never would have noticed it!
A ukrainian Catholic school, the oldest irish pub in town, garbage on the sidewalk and a site under construction. Behind there are a turkish old console game shop, a thai beauty saloon and a chinese massage center. What else can I say? Welcome to New York...

Norweb Collection pedigree. I'd urge you to take a careful look at the image of this coin as it represents one of the choicest and most original Carson City eagles from this era that I have seen. In fact, it could be designated as the "poster child" for originality.
We took a lot of shots on this merry-go-round near the house trying to get a picture to come out the way we wanted.
BTW, no post-production on this one. This is exactly how it was shot.
We had good luck with the cucumbers the first time around...now being the first day of Fall, I haven't seen too many bees around. Wasps, yes...but bees, no. I think the wasps will pollinate these for me.
I love the heart shaped leaf- this little scene lets me know they're going to do just fine.

Having read recently of 'that familiar two finger iSpread' (developed presumably, to skim as rapidly as possible through that latest batch of 67 of the new grandchild), pictures that can hold the attention for more than ten seconds are at a premium.
