This Round-tailed Manakin was quite a nice surprise along the trails of the Los Amigos Biological Station. It didn’t pose for long and we didn’t get to see it’s courtship display but simply seeing it was a thrill.

Over the Christmas/New Year break...I watched a group of Tibetan monks create a sand mandala using coloured sand...they worked on it for 8 days and then had a ceremony where they destroyed it........!...I was inspired by their patience and dedication.......no photo's used in this image........!

The is the spiral staircase in the CitizenM hotel in London. I popped in here by chance on the Photo 24 walk as I was walking past just before midnight was it started to pour down. The staff are really friendly and didn't mind me taking some shots on the staircase. I had hoped to get some from the bottom, but there was a party of people down there and I didn't want to get in their way.
I've started to put together a map of spiral staircases in London. If you look at this Google Map you can see the one's I'm aware of. If you've got any that you know of that aren't on the map and you like them added then send me a Flickr mail with the details and I'll add it.
