- a National Historic Site - The first lighthouse on Canada's west coast is still in operation! There hasn't been a keeper here since the light was automated in 1929, but every year many thousands of visitors step inside a real l9th century lighthouse, and capture some of the feeling of ships wrecked and lives saved.
A fort was first constructed here to protect Victoria harbor in 1878. The fort was closed in 1956 and is now the Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site near Equimalt, BC.

A publicity photo slide (No. 649) from David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.” Taken by Lorey Sebastian, the image shows Carl Rodd and Dale Cooper speaking at the Fat Trout Trailer Park. Interestingly, this angle doesn’t appear in the theatrical release. The scene was shot on Sept. 5, 1991 in the now-demolished Riverside Mobile Home Park in Snoqualmie, WA.
