We went to Wendys for dinner last Saturday night. It had gotten very dark and gloomy out.. it started to rain heavily just moments after we'd gone into the restaurant.
You can see how streaked with rain the windows behind Rod are.
We both got soaked getting out of the car once we'd gotten home. We laughed at the experience the next day, and Rod told me the meal was "Cozy" because we'd sat at an area of Wendys where no one else was.
I told him the meal felt special to me for the same reason.. the rain helped make this a very special memory for us both.

I have a soft spot for NS's former Hot Rod GP60s. Here we see 7136 solo with Kankakee based B12 just east of Momence after getting the OK from UP. Errr waiting 15 minutes after getting the OK from UP. For whatever reason they sat just around the curve which allowed the sun to rise. This was an outing with Mr. Nomad himself and we just happened to be passing through Kankakee on I-57 when we heard a warrant. Pretty nice start to the day. I had intentions of coming back down here to do this again. But like many of my intentions, I never made good on it. Now they job is usually an M-2 or some GE widecab. Oh well.
“Hawt Rod”
For #friendshiptember, a build challenge to build a Friendly spaceship during the month of September.
This is a stripped down spaceship with overpowered engines.
This uses "clip and bar" techniques, where there are very few studful connections.
Built over two days in the last week of September.
~10 hours, probably less.
UP 4014 rolls east past the sand pit in North Lake.
The struggle to find somewhere to get the whole locomotive in a shot that was decently lit? Yeah, that struggle was real today.
From the classic car show back in August.. I didn't get to cover even half of the area but what I was able to get was very interesting... Happy Truck Thursday, Everybody!!!!!!!!!
