My Girlfriend, Jennifer, wanted a picture of me on my birthday. I gave my Mother my camera and she took this for me. After she was finished shooting me, she said... " Not quite an Old man yet, gotta wait until the candles are out for that." Then she grinned.... Thanks Mother.. what does that make you???
:-p
Prompt: A digital fine art of a vintage porch on a sunny day, with a large American flag banner hanging from the ceiling, a patriotic wreath on the door, and two empty rocking chairs on the porch. The porch is surrounded by lush greenery and colorful flowers in large pots. The style is realistic and detailed, with soft lighting and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The image is framed by the porch railing, with the American flag and wreath prominently displayed. The rocking chairs are positioned near the center of the porch,
The digital Fine Art was created using Google ImageFX and Photoshop
Edited Photo: Made to look abstract. I used both programs "PhotoPad Image Editor" and "Paint" to edited this photo.
Not only the World's Largest Rocking Chair, but the largest chair in all of America. A towering 56.5 feet tall. Completed Aug. 25, 2015.

Last week for the theme, "A pile of things," I photographed this chair with a bunch of knitwear we habitually dropped in it. flic.kr/p/2oaCfuw
Here we are again with the same chair, emptier since the last round of housecleaning. I knitted the afghan between 2010 and 2016 using the Log Cabin Square, a free pattern by Sarah Bradberry available on Ravelry, because I like quilts, both traditional and the arty kind. It lives in this chair, a vintage rocker Danny bought at Aberfoyle Antique Market a few years ago.

Took time from a very busy schedule to visit Hopewell Furnace again, this time with our children. I had a wonderful time, in spite of the rather chilly, overcast June weather.
Note: I was actually outside of the building shooting through a window on the opposite side. The house was locked so I could not get in.
Note #2: The main emphasis here is, of course, the hat...but allow me to direct your attention to the knob on the door. For me, it has a presence of its own and will be the subject of another image, for sure.
Thanks for all of your wonderful comments!

Have a seat in one of the rocking chairs on the porch of the Buena Vista Visitors Center in Rockbridge County, Virginia.
This shot was taken in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The perfect porch was very inviting looking. A glass of ice tea and you would be all set to watch the world go by.

I can't have a hammock 'cause there's no room on my little balcony... but my rocker is the next best thing for a little afternoon siesta...especially when the sun hits it. It's raining today. They say the sun is coming this week though. ☀️

An old shot of Snow White lounging on the rocking chair. Her pose reminds me of French 19th century paintings... ;)

Taken yesterday from the front porch rocking chair, my elderly cat Wilson passed away peacefully in my lap in the same spot this afternoon. The sun was shining and birds were flitting about.
This morning he gave me a head bonk and was purring even as his energy was waning. He was 15 and for 14 of those years was FIV positive, which meant an indoor life away from my other cats. He befriended the dogs instead and became a constant lap fixture.
He had a happy, healthy life right up until the very end when he started losing weight. I'm so glad I did not put him down as was suggested when the virus was first discovered--I would have missed out on all these wonderful years!

Only very special mice get to dress up and sit in their very own rocking chair! This *grandma* is patiently awaiting a letter from her son with news about his visit during the holidays!
I know this is a bit early to post for the holidays, but in this day and age, *snail mail* is such a thing of the past; no one knows how long it will take to arrive at its destination anymore?
And with 73¢ for a first class letter, how many people will still be sending Christmas cards? I'm just too darn old-fashioned . . . so much JOY has been stripped from this fast-paced world.
Praying for a restoration of HOPE and PEACE.
Sitting on the porch of the Oceanic, hearing the seagulls call, and smelling the fresh ocean air, I feel invincible, without a worry in the world.
