I have photographed this old rocking chair so many times in the last 7 years. It used to seem to me that someone was going to rescue it with cleaning and new paint. I don't believe that will happen any more. Do you see Wiki sitting here?

You can't beat having your favorite warm beverage sitting in front of the Wilderness Lodge fireplace. It's been a while since I visited Disney World at Christmas time. This was taken a few years ago. Maybe next year....
Thanks for looking and have a great week!

"I envy people who can just look at a sunset. I wonder how you can shoot it." (Dustin Hoffman)
While hiking the hills near my house I was surprised and delighted to see this cozy rocking chair set-up aimed at the blazing western sky. The distant purple hills are the Pacific coastal range. Can't you imagine sitting there with someone special, slowly and quietly rocking, watching the sky turn dark and the stars appear?
De-focused apple orchard bokeh...shot with the Helios 44M. Makes your eyes go a bit funny but I like the odd strange image ;-))
I got this at a yard sale last year. I paid more for this one then I usually would have, but I just loved this one. The lady that sold it to me said it belonged to her father, so it's from about 1900. Even the cushion is original. She told me some of her family history and showed some other beautiful things that she has that were not for sale.
A stunningly beautiful country farm house laden with oddities and curiosities all from yesteryear. The rocking chair rocks no more the picture hangs no more.

Our Daily Challenge - Within The Moment - 6/19/16
We went to a friend for lunch yesterday (Cottage Pie and apple crumble from apples grown in her garden). Her cat, Cocoa, was taking full advantage of the wood-burning stove in the dining room!
These are pretty uncommon especially... one as nice as this one .
For being an amateur...he used the living room curtains to good effect.
I must admit...I only paid $6 for this one...and wouldnt take 10 times that...
if I ever sold it...which I would'nt of course.

I'm anxiously posting this photo, knowing she's far from the normal cute Sindys I post. (please be kind)
This Sindy came to me with a very discoloured mouth and chin. I couldn't remove it so I tried sandpaper, it didn't really work, so I tried a scalpel..... One thing led to another and suddenly she had a big mouth filled with mighty teeth.
Her temporary name is Haley, but I might change it. I've never done anything like this -ever- before. It was both scary and fun.

I decided on a new name: Maggie.
