Part of my American Rocker series about people who own rocking chairs (I'm not kidding -- www.kylecassidy.com/americanrocker) this was lit with ambient window light for the room plus a medium umbrella about 3 feet from the subject with an sb800 triggered with an ebay wireless from a nikon d200. the flash was set about two stops over the room light. the lens was a tokina 28-80.

Rockers

Things move around in the house now that we have a toddler. Came down one morning to find this. I thought it looked too perfectly staged to not take a photo of it.

The rocking chair was found at a garage sale by my in-laws. They fixed it up for Matthew, which was really nice of them. We wondered why they asked to borrow the wood glue one day and wouldn't tell us why.

We are becoming foster parents to a new baby and I have been busy getting the room all ready to welcome this new baby in.

Quite the quiet day today. Well, quiet in the sense that not much happened aside from staying home and attempting to do chores and all that jazz.

This is the beat-up-second-hand-rocking-chair I rocked my Tweedles in when they were teeny. I picked it up at a garage sale I was driving by for $20 and it came w/ a matching gliding ottomon. The cushions were re-upholstered, but HunHun never got around to repainting it - then it just grew on me, the way it's all raggedy. Like normal life is at times.

Washed in Modern Photo at Jalan Raya Ragunan. As usual, the cyan tint when they process Kodak film are there, but this time luckily the result is more easily adjustable.

I still hate that the simpler image editor doesn't have a Blue-Yellow axis adjustment.

Scan quality reminds me about how out of calibration by Epson V330 is.

It was the kind of day where you just want to get a fire going in the fireplace, sit in your rocking chair, and do a little knitting while listening to The Girl Who Played With Fire (really) on audiobook.

One of Nancy's fancies that I can't remember the name. Hard for me to photograph, though, but finally got a decent pic on the third trip out earlier in the summer. Another shot below of her quaint little porch with a view.

Nora 6 months old, at Grandpa Terry's. Grandpa thrifted & repainted the ROCKing chair!

The rocking chair is older than I am; my father (recently demised) bought it in the spring of 1960 so that my mother could rock baby me, but apparently I *LOATHED* it from day 2 on, so it reverted to being his rocking chair.

When they moved they didn't have room for most of their stuff, including the offending chair, so I claimed it and now it's sitting at home serving as a cozy throne for a Dust Mite
