i've always found victorian styled rooms to be really intriguing, and so does my mom. this is our living room haha.
These two lovely girls came for portraits on the porch today. If you recognize them, shhhhh! The portraits are a Father's Day gift!

Between 5:00-5:30, Kylie unwinds in her room and watches a tv show before bathtime. She is so much more relaxed when she is in Momma Karen's arms.

One of Nancy's fancies that I can't remember the name. Hard for me to photograph, though, but finally got a decent pic on the third trip out earlier in the summer. Another shot below of her quaint little porch with a view.
April 30 - Today ended up being impromptu spring cleaning.
This rocking chair came in the shipping cargo from Dubai ten years ago. It was where I threw my clothes in the bedroom. Now, it's waiting to be a donation at the Salvation Army. The awful yellow pole lamp goes too.
This image is in a set called "My Daily Photo Stream". Whereas the focus of my eJournal and images blog is on text, I want to create an emphasis on photos here. I'll shoot and add an image each day. Doing so will remind me to constantly carry my camera and it'll be a more direct record of current, personal experiences.
Cole and I made the drive out to Franklin during our weekend in Nashville to check out the Carnton Plantation. We were the last ones there and got a very personal tour of the house. It's wild to see blood stains on the wooden floors from the Civil War. This home become a field hospital during the Battle of Franklin. Such a story...
Rainy, dreary Memorial Day. So I decided to try my hand with a little HDR on my old Nikon D40 which does not have auto-bracketing. Used a tripod, some info gleaned from the innertubes and CS5's built-in processing. A few tweaks. It's no masterpiece but did prove to myself that it can be done with the D40. My first such attempt.

Have a cushioned rocking chair set up in front of a 36.5 inch TV. The PC is plugged into it.
The downside is the 1024x768 resolution, however it's:
Awesome for Guitar Hero 3.
Great for Half Life 2.
Excellent for watching vidcasts (ie, DiggNation, TekZilla).
