The bday Amy sent was of such fine quality and craftsmanship. Chaz is putting it together right now.
It's so nice to have a private porch to sit and rock on in the cool mornings here in Fort Davis.. And that's pretty much any morning here in the high desert. However hot it may get during the day, by night, it drops to the point where you will wish you had a jacket or blanket. That's so different from *my* side of Texas, where the humidity keeps the temperature high all night long.
It's quiet and peaceful here, with only the ringing of the church bell on the hour to remind you that time is wasting if all you're doing is sitting and rocking. Things to do, places to see - and a great breakfast is just two blocks away at the Fort Davis Drug Store.
Here are my 4 chairs and a stool.
Wicker chair, $5 from Craigslist painted white.
Green chair, $15 from Craigslist sanded a bit and recovered the seat with new fabric.
Brown rocking chair, $15 from Craigslist and needs some cleaning.
White rocker, made by my gpa, needs a LOT of work :)
Stool from Craft Warehouse, not sure what to do with it...
this was my mom's, then it was mine. my cousins shared it with me when it was kept at my grandma's house. there are markings on the bottom of the seat that read "montgomery ward 1946".
These two lovely girls came for portraits on the porch today. If you recognize them, shhhhh! The portraits are a Father's Day gift!
They were so fun to work with, and adorable to boot! Blogged here: danigirl.ca/blog/2012/05/13/sneak-peek-porch-portraits-wi...
