Such fine detail and gold tassels hanging from the velvet saddle.

I think this will be the last of Mallory's monthly rocking chair pictures. Maybe I'll take them every 6 months or every year.

New Ikea rocking chair that has totally transformed my room!

You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear

voices singing, "Let's be jolly

Deck the halls with boughs of holly!"

Far from perfect, but much improved

we arrived in NC and were welcomed with rocking chairs, they were all over the airport. wilmington also had free wifi, the only other airport besides PDX that we've been to. after we left here we took a cab ride to our 1 night hotel which our driver gladly told us he wouldn't let his dog sleep there and that it was well known for drug dealers living there and even murders. we slept well!

the neighbors will complain

let them stare, let them stare

who knows where the time goes

i dont care, i dont care

what would you think of me if i told you

i haven't slept in weeks?

i've been up chasing my childhood with a pen

these are the dreams old men dream

One of my whimsical paintings sitting on the rocking chair I got from my Grandma.

Taken for Sit a spell. My Father bought this when I was pregnant because every new Mum needs a place to rock a baby.

For Kim Klassen’s Texture Tuesday using “stained linen” and required “aurora”texture.

Since about 1850, every child on my mother’s side of the family has used this little rocker and all their names and birthdates are written on the bottom. Several years ago my mother had a piece of wood cut so that it could be attatched to the bottom, to add the more recent “sitters”. I thought the “aurora” texture was very fittingly used on here because the writing is similar to what is on the bottom of the chair.

Because we can't rock back

and we can't push force

so we're stuck here

until Spring thaws us out.

This is more or less right across the road of the plantation here scenes of "Gone with the wind" were shot.

A view of the platform rocker, showing the cable and turnbuckle arrangements that I have used to hold the side frames together. More durable than glue and nails, this also makes it easy to dismantle the chair for air transport.
