Quick drawing from an old picture of me as a baby.

This is my entry for the Texture Photo Challenge on I Heart Faces this week. I had a wonderful time photographing this little sweetheart and her newborn baby brother. By this time she was getting a little tired of posing and was doing some silly things like crossing her eyes, whistling, pretending like the cowboy hat was choking her. She could not be cuter and was so much fun to be around.

The Simply Fabulous Glider Chair is the modern day rocking chair that provides you with comfort and luxury in absolute style.

I decided to try and show Angela that we could do some photo shoot similar to the portrait studios, but at home.

This is a Amish rocking chair made from hickory that Ainsley's Great Grandfather gave her. She's finally able to sit in it and doesn't fall out (too much...).

Porch Rocker 4

Fourth in a set of images documenting the beautiful porches and rocking chairs of Vinales, Cuba in the Pinar del Rio province.

Nearly every house in Vinales has a porch and there seems to be a lot of importance placed on the rocking chair and pride in the appearance of the front stoop. In the late afternoons and early evenings, these porches become social gathering places as the sounds of the ballgame on the radio or music flow from open doors and windows.

This is a photo I took in Cuba a few years ago. There seemed to be so many people that just sat and stared from their perches outside their doors. This is one of my favourite photographs.

I'd love to know the story behind this circa 1920-30 rocking chair we picked up at an antique store this weekend for only $15.

We're finally getting ready to move Lucas to his big-boy bed, so I thought I'd take this environmental portrait of him in his "baby" room. Sigh. We've gotten more than seven solid years and three boys' worth of use out of that crib over the last nine years!

8.4.2021: If this rocking chair could talk. What magnificent stories we would hear.

A little tweaking still in this room, but it was almost done when I shot this.

From the intro area of the new exhibit at the Maine State Museum, "At Home in Maine.".... this is why I haven't been on flickr. At 5600 square feet, it was a huge project, and everyone worked long hours on it.

I still remember the world

From the eyes of a child

Slowly those feelings

Were clouded by what I know now

*chorus*

Where has my heart gone

An uneven trade for the real world

oh I...

I want to go back to

Believing in everything and knowing nothing at all

I still remember the sun

Always warm on my back

Somehow it seems colder now

*chorus2*

Where has my heart gone

Trapped in the eyes of a stranger

oh why...

I want to go back to

Believing in everything

Fields of Innocence ~ Evanescence

Roaming around the grounds at the Audubon Centre at Mill Grove Pennsylvania in the morning, I discovered this neat line of rocking chairs on the veranda. Memorable morning.
