Let's swing together, my dearest princess Rosie...wheeee

Back and forth and back and forth..and

ROSIE:

Not too fast mijn lieve prins Peter.

PETER:

Trust me mijn liefste prinses Rosie

You are safe with me

The porch swing was made by me from clothes pegs

Thank you so much www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/ for the use of the photo from Rosie in my photomontage

She’s not here,

but the porch still saves her seat.

The breeze leans in like it’s listening,

and the paint chips whisper stories I can’t finish alone.

The shack doesn’t speak,

but it remembers.

Every creak, every shadow -

they wait with me

.

No countdown.

Just stillness.

Just love, holding its breath.

Project 365, 2022 Edition: Day 218/365

We arrived at our cottage on Fletcher Lake for vacation on the evening of August 6. One of the first things I did was take this photo of the view from the living room.

Sometimes, a good rocking chair is a really soothing stress therapy.

I love this quilt I just finished called "Road to Oklahoma". On the rocking chair by the light of the window, it just looked divine! For 117 pictures in 2017 no. 39 In the light from a window.

I had a wonderful time walking around the city of Orillia this past Friday. All the strangers that I encountered on the street were super friendly and patient when I was taking photos (waiting for me to get my shot before walking past, for example). It’s a great feeling when the sun is shining and you feel inspired and connected to those around you. #lifeisgood

Last minute 48 hour trip taking in a few new spots and some old locations. 17 hour days and mixed weather added to the fun.

The Dragon on HIS rocking chair. He has loved this chair right from the beginnig but it took him months to find a way to jump onto it without being catapulted off immediately or bumping into the wall. In the meantime he is a pro and the chair hardly moves when he climbs onto it.

This picture highlights three things that are comforting. This rocking chair was a gift from our son. It is part of a set on our front porch. It is a great place to relax and watch people pass by.

The blanket is from Costco and I use it every night when I sit on the couch and watch TV. It is very warm.

And lastly, I am always reading a book. I have been in a Book Group for over 15 years and it is fun to read things I wouldn't normally pick out on my own. For fiction and non-fiction, I usually read eBooks, so I can read in bed. But I thought the Kindle wouldn't look as nice as a regular book for this photo. I have lots of hardback cookbooks, instructional books, and art books. This one is a cookbook.

I've been listening to Eric Clapton this morning and have the biggest smile on my face. Here is a song to go with this image, it's called Rocking Chair - www.youtube.com/watch?v=klttMLy9fAY.

Follow me and set up your rocker in front of a roaring fire and play the song. Great, right?

Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday!

With the holidays just around the corner, Stormtrooper Bruce knows things are about to get hectic.

So, he has escaped to the Secret Room, found hidden behind his quarters years ago, in order to take a few minutes to sit, relax and clear his head… and make a list or two to try and get organized this year.
