She’s not here,
but the porch still saves her seat.
The breeze leans in like it’s listening,
and the paint chips whisper stories I can’t finish alone.
The shack doesn’t speak,
but it remembers.
Every creak, every shadow -
they wait with me
.
No countdown.
Just stillness.
Just love, holding its breath.

We arrived at our cottage on Fletcher Lake for vacation on the evening of August 6. One of the first things I did was take this photo of the view from the living room.
Thank you to everyone who visits, faves, and comments.

I love this quilt I just finished called "Road to Oklahoma". On the rocking chair by the light of the window, it just looked divine! For 117 pictures in 2017 no. 39 In the light from a window.
Last minute 48 hour trip taking in a few new spots and some old locations. 17 hour days and mixed weather added to the fun.

I had a wonderful time walking around the city of Orillia this past Friday. All the strangers that I encountered on the street were super friendly and patient when I was taking photos (waiting for me to get my shot before walking past, for example). It’s a great feeling when the sun is shining and you feel inspired and connected to those around you. #lifeisgood
The Dragon on HIS rocking chair. He has loved this chair right from the beginnig but it took him months to find a way to jump onto it without being catapulted off immediately or bumping into the wall. In the meantime he is a pro and the chair hardly moves when he climbs onto it.
A slightly arrogant rabbit: he thinks he can join in with the bear alphabet.

I've been listening to Eric Clapton this morning and have the biggest smile on my face. Here is a song to go with this image, it's called Rocking Chair - www.youtube.com/watch?v=klttMLy9fAY.
Follow me and set up your rocker in front of a roaring fire and play the song. Great, right?
Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday!
