Loads of boulders of all sizes on the beach at Whitburn, so I had a go at rock balancing. It's pretty simple at this scale but you have to start somewhere! There are loads of pics about that are obviously faked but this one is real....honest...it is!

From this morning's trip to Bald Rock Heritage Preserve in SC:

I woke up at 4:00am this morning. Had a quick shower and breakfast and headed toward the mountains. As the sky began to lighten (around 6:30) I noticed there were no clouds. That usually means fewer opportunities for good photos. Something about clouds in a morning sky just looks great.

I pull up to the entrance, got out my gear and headed across the footbridge and up over the big rock ahead of me. The sky was dark blue with a hint of pink on the horizon. The rolling hills were blanketed by fog as they usually are in early morning. I walked over the mountain top and down the other side thirty or forty feet, looking for a level place to sit a while.

I found a good spot, where I could see the whole view including Table Rock to my extreme right. I sat down. I rested my camera on my lap and opened my thermos. I've had to stop drinking coffee because of my high blood pressure so my thermos was filled with herb tea -- Black Cherry Berry, to be exact.

I sniffed the open thermos as my eyes swept across the view in front of me. I took a sip. I had learned to appreciate Black Cherry Berry over the past days as a suitable substitute for coffee. The sun, to my far left, began to light up the sky and the hills in front of me. A cool breeze of perfectly clean air moved past me as I leisurely drank what seemed even more delicious on this quiet morning.

What was my morning like? Herb tea, a cool peaceful morning, and a view like this:
