Isa Lei approaches the Rock of Gibraltar 7 weeks and 1,350 miles or so after leaving Bristol in England; stopping at 21 different ports, harbours and anchorages on the way.
A few minutes after taking this photo a pod of maybe 8-10 dolphins came close to the boat and gave me an energetic acrobatic display.....icing on the cake when it happens.
My Mediterranean odyssey starts here........

Dead Rock....Situated about 250 miles from the Rock haven, the nearest permanent settlement.
A rag tag group of survivors have managed to set up quite a comfortable, fortified compound on an isolated butte of rock.
I haven't gotten all of the potential I wanted out of this build, but this has been a fun distraction for my imagination.
Juliandrius was kind enough to edit the original pic,so the background is, well, 100% better. Thanks for your efforts!
Identifying species of Dudleya is debatable even among botanists, so I'm guessing this is D. caespitosa, Coast Dudleya with Niebla homalea, Armored Fog Lichen, near the base of
Morro Rock, Morro Bay, California
From a distance the rocks on the east side of Morro Rock, which are covered with these lichen, seem somewhat softer appearing to me, at least compared to the nearby rocks, which are either bare or have less conspicuous crustose lichen. The first colonizers of bare rock, lichen then provide footholds for the plants. On some other bare-appearing parts of Morro Rock, these Dudleya probably gain some soil foothold in cracks in the rock.

I had never intended to shoot this, and it never looked good in colour. The black and white i think enhances the clouds int he background and the slightly unbalanced rock help bring this photo together. There was a rainbow as i was setting up my camera but it disappeared by the time i was ready!
no point on shooting in velvia!
Baldassarre Peruzzi (1481-1536) - frescoes of the perspective room (1519) - Villa Farnesina - Rome
The vast hall on the first floor, where on 28 August 1519 the rich banker held his wedding banquet, takes its name from the perspective views of urban and rural landscapes between fictitious columns, painted by Baldassarre Peruzzi.
The artist combined a rich sense of architecture with a gift for perspective and scenography. It represents the ideal continuation of the ground floor loggias; through the imitation columns one can see various views: villages perched on rock, countryside views, and in the background, against an illuminated sky, is the city (The Holy Spirit Church, a Roman basilica, the porta Settimiana).
The 1976-83 restoration brought to light the sarcastic inscription in the centre of the wall towards the Wedding Room. The message dates back to 1528 and documents the passage of the Lansquenets in the Farnesina during the Sacking of Rome in 1527: “Why should I who write not laugh – the Lansquenets have set the Pope on the run”.
Trompe l’oeil niches with figures of gods complete the decoration and an ample frieze with mythological scenes attributed to Peruzzi’s school runs high up around the walls. The panel over the fireplace, Vulcan’s forge, is mediocre and was probably painted at a later date than the other frescoes.
The rocking chair we have found in our barn. The chair fits very well for decoration of the 800th celebration of our village. :))
Den Schaukelstuhl haben wir in unserer Scheune gefunden. Noch ein Dekoartikel für unsere 800 Jahr Feier. :)
The lions have a new rock pool in their enclosure and although they love it and play in it, I have not seen or heard of them going in for a swim just yet.
I am looking forward to when it warms up to see if they use it as their own personal swimming pool.

Kashmir, The Live Led Zeppelin Show was created by vocalist Jean Violet back in 2000. It has grown from the streets of New York City to now being one of the top Led Zeppelin Tribute bands touring nationally and internationally. Kashmir’s primary focus is capturing the live performance and raw energy of a Led Zeppelin show.
Time and time again audience members who meet and greet with Kashmir after a show tell them how they felt as if they went back in time to a Led Zeppelin concert that they attended or how younger members of the audience will tell the band how it was the closest experience that they will ever get to a Live Led Zeppelin performance.
Yes, the singer looks and sounds a lot like Robert Plant and the band shares the authenticity, appearance and sound of the great Led Zeppelin but more importantly the band wants to share the energy and the experience that Led Zeppelin created while on tour. The band calls it “The Zone” and they want everyone to share that same electromagnetic experience after leaving a Kashmir show like so many Zep fans did in the past while watching the great Led Zeppelin on stage! ~ High energy show that lasted over 2 1/2 hours! Bravo!
