Another Great Plains sunset variation.... After a drought over the summer, there have been lots of good sunsets in the last six weeks or so.
A moody beach ripple shot taken on Whitby beach. I liked the contrasting beach and sky, alongside the textures.

I spotted this whilst walking along the banks of Thirlmere after taking a Winter pano up on Binka Stone. The wind had caused the surface of the lake to ripple and the sunlight really illuminated the mossy growth of this tree creating a beguiling pattern.
This is not something I would ordinarily stop and photograph, but it caught my eye and when came to look at the image later on the computer it did look quite interesting. So here it is!
I'm continuing to process a few images from 2015. I like the ripples in the river here; they remind me of a dune field seen from above.

"Marching to the promised land
Where the honey flows
And takes you by the hand
Pulls you down on your knees
While you're down a pool appears
The face in the water looks up
And she shakes her head as if to say
That it's the last time you'll look like today"
Lyrics by Genesis

Bed til at kommunen ikke ødelægger min strand. De vil placere en 2 m høj stenmolehavn lige der, hvor stranden er allerfinest. Totalt unødvendigt med en havn. Afgøres i morgen.
Pray that our local government does not destroy my beach. Tomorrow they'll make the decision to build a harbour with huge 2m high stone piers right here. No reason whatsoever for building a harbour.
I particularly liked the way that the strata seemed to pour into the waves. I was imagining lava from the volcano pouring into the sea. Typically one of my early morning walks hoping for stunning sunrise which never happened however the sun was catching the waves and creating the beautiful blues contrasting the reds and oranges in the rock.
Taken on the Anglesey coast path close to Moelfre
Every storm begins with the first raindrop, the calm before the storm has past, the first drip has hit the ground.

I can sit by a lake for hours. The steady and placid state of a mountain lake can barely be disturbed by a ripple because the lake is surrounded by the mountains.
