A long exposure, landscape image of waves rolling off the rocks on coastline near Hopeman in Morayshire, Scotland.

At yet another birthday party with the kids this past weekend, at Quassy amusement park located on Lake Quassapaug. The kiddie park area, where I inevitably spend most of my time, is separated from the water by only a fence. So of course, with the sun setting, my attention is being torn by this lovely sunset glittering on the water...and like usual, I feel like I'm the only one noticing the beauty.

I took some shots, but this time for kicks, I tried a few shots in sunset mode, which is something I very rarely use because I don't like the result. It seems to take away the colors and adds an almost sepia tone...maybe because it's an older camera, I don't know. But I actually like the result here, giving everything an amber glow...reminding me of tiger-eye contrasting with the dark areas.

Have a wonderful day, my friends :-)

I love the concentric circles made by ripples on water, these remind me of other natural circles like lily pads and tree rings

Rather than swimming from shore a muskrat cut across the ice for a bite. It was very cautious making only a tiny ripple.

Reflections distorted by ripples, the Calvert River, Northern Territory Australia. The plants at the edge of the water are Pandanus spiralis, the common screw palm or common screw pine, which is neither a palm nor a pine.

This was a calm, yet stormy afternoon in Port Germein where small storms slowly developed but passed over quickly. I was mesmerised by the slow tidal movement over the sandflats half way along the Port Germein jetty. The crescent shaped bars of sand would quickly be swallowed up by the slight inward moving ripples which seemed to come in small sets. It is one of those places where despite having a fairly small tidal range, you can see the tidal movement as it creeps slowly in. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon!

Happy Nice Wonderful Clouds Tuesday!

Ripples in the sand near the river mouth of the Bega River and Tasman Sea. The mouth is near the tip of the headland and is not always open. However, being a very wet year, the mouth was opened using machinery, otherwise the adjacent lagoon would flood the nearby road. Mogareeka near Tathra Far South Coast NSW.

Taken on a visit to Elie Ness lighthouse, East Neuk of Fife, in Scotland. The ripples run along the sand, like giant worms.

Thought I'd bring it all back down to Earth, been off away from this for a few day, I took this yesterday, I thought the view was amazing until this boat came drifting by, to give you the moment, raise your finger on your right hand, now blow an elongated raspberry whilst finger goes from right to left slowly, there you have it. So I am patiently waiting for this 2 stroke floating lawnmower to kindly move the fuck outta of my way and hey presto, ripples. So I took a shot of that instead.

I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

This was taken from on top of the old bridge that I posted last month.

Fresh blues and greens of spring, reflected in the ripples of the Stroudwater Canal.

„Even a wave stops being such. Even a wave, in a single instant, stops being a ripple of the sea to go and relax in the depths of the waters. Perhaps for this reason, attention is paid to it. Maybe that's why, when you are aboard a boat facing the railing, you are almost always there, looking for that little whiteness. Near or far it is. You stand there watching that slender bend of water vibrate in infinite drops and then dissolve. It remains, even during a short-term trip, to see them first restless and then exhausted to return to being only sea. "- Federico Pace

Another shot at Hunting Island, something different!! Have a blessed day!

My final image of the male Whooper swan on the lake at Tralee Bay Wetland Centre back in June 2015 (see my album below for the other photos). He & his mate are quite tame but wild & not pinioned so they could leave anytime they chose. She was sitting on a nest on one of the islands but sadly their eggs hadn't hatched. The warden told me they were a young pair so hopefully this year they'll be successful? Happy Wing Wednesday!

Lake Michigan and Her ever changing shoreline has always created such a beautiful canvas. Always drawn, I go, never to be turned away. She welcomes me, and always captures me. Her sensational waters press against my body. I feel Her. She loves me, and I Her.

Sometimes luck is everything. As I was shooting this peaceful scene a passing boat produced just the ripples I wanted.
