I have a talented friend who makes wedding dresses and just occasionaly she gives me a bag of small offcuts of the most wonderful material, usually silk.

In this photograph I have shown how every inch of this material is used. I have machine embroidered ( without a hoop) several different sized flower shapes with are destined for cards and present decorations.

Reversible reusable grocery bags made fom a pattern I partially drafted based on instructions from

earth girl fabrics, but I lined the bag completely to make it sturdier rather than just facing it. I think the hippo and elephant material is Kokka - the lining fabric (shown on top) came from Joann's. My attempt at assembly instructions accompany the photo of the polka dot bags.

progetto RRR- Reuse Recycle Remind - Fashion Show1

Built from reclaimed marble, recovered by reuse action (reuseaction.com) from a lavatory renovation in one of the Buffalo Public Schools. It was a stall partition, so a close inspection shows who loved who, and all sorts of school age nonsense scratched into the marble. We cut it down to size for the customer and left the markings in the marble as part of its charm. The legs, undercarriage and mounting brackets are all made of reclaimed house trim. The marble installed originally in the 1920s, most likely by Italian immigrant craftsmen. In this city the old wood work was done by Poles and Germans, while the stone work was done by the Italians. crafts they brought from their home countries. Without rescuing this material it (and its heritage) would be in the landfill.

Each piece we build is unique and imbued with history...and keeping materials out of landfills.

commission work for a guy from LA. I love doing commissions! It's somehow a lot more satisfying to make a thing for a particular person than to just make an endless heap of things.

I started out just looking for something "glossy" to meet @dailyshoot's assignment, but the text on this bag was pretty interesting. I did some severe Lightroom adjustments beyond what I'd do to a normal photo, but I think it accentuates the shininess of the plastic, and the saturation of the red text.

@dailyshoot: "Make a photograph of something shiny or glossy, but not transparent. Emphasize the effect of the surface."

A few years ago a client wanted me to take her entertainment center cabinet to the dump. Rather than make that trip I stored the boards in my workshop. I was thinking of making my mother shelves for her storage shed. Then this client asked for shelves in her closet and as it turned out the boards from the entertainment center were an exact fit. I didn't even have to cut the wood. The client admired the finish.

We have tons of stuff leftover from when my husband use to sell on ebay.

One of the many things that I asked if I coulc use was a big box of empty liquor bottles. When I finish them I want to send at least one off to Art Doll Quarterly.

Kept the birthday cap around just for fun.

UNEP, through the Global Wastewater Initiative and the IWRM SIDS AIO project, will work with FAO to upscale efforts in promoting wastewater reuse for reforestation and agriculture in the Island of Santiago and Sao Vicente, Cabo Verde. To that effect a joint mission was organised from 24 to 29 April 2016. The objective of the meeting was to:

- Formulate UNEP-FAO Cabo Verde project document on wastewater reuse.

- Provide UNEP/GPA/IWRM AIO SIDS inputs to the meeting following up with key national intervening in the water and agriculture sector.
