day 1 thrifting:
glass food dish, 6 japanese stacking mugs, wool blanket, 3 yards of fabric, a roll of huge graph paper, brass frame, figurine and a piece of art on a 2x4 piece of wood.
in reality, to make this shirt i recycled a shirt of mine that was in the goodwill pile. the original shirt buttoned down the front (and puckered funny, hence the banishment), so i used the existing buttons/holes to make the back panel and the back to make the front. i used a seam ripper on the darting that made the unwanted pucker- maybe in the future i can try that rather than donating the shirt! the front yoke and straps were cut from the sleeves.
i'm totally going to tell people that i put those buttonholes in though.
Stephanie and I found these while shopping in Iowa City, and they are hugely handy, because they fold up small and clip to your bag, so you always have it with you.

It's pretty simple really, The ReUse Project is about finding multiple uses for things and throwing nothing away that doesn't have to be. ReUsing is kind of like Recycling, only we arent geting rid of things, we are finding new uses for them.
Here are a few examples of how you might ReUse...
Example 1:
I was walking down the street the other day when i found ________ in the trash. I decided to take ________ home and turned it into _________.
Example 2:
I had _______ sitting in my closet for the last million years and I finally did something with it.
Example 3:
I got _________ for my birthday this year, and i really didnt like it, so i cut it up and turned it into _______.
There are many ways to ReUse.

I was told that this looks like an underwater scene. Something that would be growing at the sea bottom. This was once a Ford exhaust header. I did some tweaking in the hydraulic press now the mounting flanges (little faces) looking like their surprised..

In the world of reusable shopping bags, I wondered why there weren't any that looked like regular old grocery bags. So I made one.
This one is made out of sheer lining material. Hems done with a zig-zag stitch. French seams on the inside side seams and on the outside top and bottom seams. Button hole details on the handles.

The reuse groups tent was made out of items they found while dumpster diving. The shell is plastic bags that have been ironed together. This is from the 2006 trip.
It has become an important fact that environment is being polluted, and there is an urgent necessity to preserve the environment. So fellow earthlings help to save mother nature by just reusing a little water bottle. Cheers :).
