Blunt, CA- I-5 N Bound where a Rest Area is located 1 mile north of the Jellys Ferry Interchange in Tehama County.
I drove through past Butte the night before (hard core). It was downpour raining going over Homestake Pass, too. Nobody on the road except me and the trucks. Hard core, like I said.
Behind this door I could heard some sort of engine or machine or something. I walked up to the door to vote and lost my nerve. After I got up close I started thinking that if this voting mechanism really exists, then my understanding of the world around me was fundamentally flawed. Voting would be taunting some force that i don't understand. There is no way of knowing what might have been.
Opened in August 2010, Tie Fork Rest Area is located in Utah on US Hwy 6 between Spanish Fork and Price. The design won a people's choice award sponsored by the Utah chapter of the American Institue of Architects.

There's a rest stop in Michigan that features benches buried in dense flower patches. What do you make of this? Landscaping lunacy? Bizarre art? People-eating plants?
Hampden-North rest area in Hampden, ME. I was going to go in and check out the tourist info center, but the small parking lot was full.
Palm City, FL- I-95 N Bound where a rest area is located 1 mile ahead to give motorists a break from driving, catch a snack, or get some coffee.
Curious little tree growing out of a rock...apparently been there since the 1800's.
We stopped here on our way to Burning Man in 2004, and decided to stop again this time.
I think this is a rest area in Montana... I'm not sure. Might be near George, WA... Should've kept a notebook on this trip!
We were so excited about this!! I saw the sign "Rest Area" and opened the door...and voila!!!....there's an actual bed and chair for those whose legs are tired from walking around the museum! it's genius! but sadly, this won't work in New York. (The National Museum/Reykjavik, IC)
At Mile Marker 48 lies the Will Rogers Turnpike's only service area. The 29,135 square foot building is built over the highway and houses two restaurants, a gift shop, and restrooms free of charge to all turnpike patrons. Here featured is the interior looking to the eastbound entrance. The facility was remodeled back in 2014, so everything looked brand new in 2015 when I took this photo.
