As I was heading home after grocery shopping the other day, an army of fire trucks rushed to Coxwell subway station. Hopefully it wasn't a sad emergency.
View large and you can see the firefighters are wearing masks.

Crime is was ever on the increase in District 18. Faced with the possibility of losing the next election, the Mayor introduced targets for waiting times for a police response. The police were then faced with the difficulty of getting to multiple call outs in District 18 quickly.
The answer was the Rapid Response Riders. These minimally trained occifers were mounted on cheap, fast speeder bikes. They could get to any area of the District in less than 10 minutes. Sadly, neither the bikes nor their riders could carry any useful equipment. Arriving at the scene of a crime, the riders were usually powerless to prevent it or arrest the criminals. However, the Mayor's targets for response times were met by 98.56% within the first year of their introduction.
Technical features of the bikes included a large screen information display and a prone riding position. This enabled the rider to better endure the g-forces of the sharp turns needed to navigate the narrow alleyways of District 18. A large Whatt & Pritney turbojet provided the speeder's main power. Sadly its intakes were vulnerable to FOD in the litter strewn streets. A common tactic for criminals was to throw crisp packets and the foil from chocolate bars into the path of approaching speeders. This led to the expression, "Guns don't kill people, wrappers do.".
Views of the speeder can be seen HERE.

my last three uploads blew me away and I am flattered. The one photo I actually wanted to make explore was my last upload since I felt it was something special and the fact that it reached #9 supported my feeling..plus I am now no longer a "One hit wonder" with explore :)
Anyway, I wanted to change things up a little and throw in a quick portrait. Beckah was out shooting with me one day and to conclude our photography lesson, we got in some night photography to show her what it is all about. While the color shot is OK, the BW just appeals to me more....at least for now.
Shot with the incredible but not edible 5D Mark III...a remarkable piece of photography equipment.

About this shot:
This was shot at my first glamour photography assignment on December 2007.
Both of those models are my friends- Mehedi & Orny...
Shot against flash strobes to make a burnt background with a silhoutte effect. It was a experimental shot, thats why the models had to suffer a lot :D
thanks friends.
