in the late afternoon we found this female Tiger walking on a sandy road while she was marking her territory ( Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh, India )
It is the same female as in the image in the first comment box.
After a while she lied down and started flehmening.
The Flehmen response (also called the Flehmen position, Flehmen reaction, flehming, or flehmening) is a behaviour whereby an animal curls back its upper lip exposing its front teeth, inhales with the nostrils usually closed and then often holds this position for several seconds.
It may be performed over a site or a substance of particular interest to the animal (e.g. urine or faeces) or may be performed with the neck stretched and the head held high in the air.
Flehmen is performed by a wide range of mammals including ungulates and felids.
The behaviour facilitates the transfer of pheromones and other scents into the vomeronasal organ located above the roof of the mouth via a duct which exits just behind the front teeth of the animal. ( Source: Wikipedia )

The National War Memorial (also known as The Response), is a tall granite cenotaph with acreted bronze sculptures, that stands in Confederation Square, Ottawa, and serves as the federal war memorial for Canada.
Originally built to commemorate the First World War, in 1982 it was rededicated to include the Second World War and the Korean War. In 2000, the Canadian Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was added to the memorial site and symbolizes the sacrifice made by every Canadian who has died or may yet die for their country.

I used to believe in so many things. I don't so much any more. You cannot rely on people for the most part. Everyone wants to share their opinion with you now and tell you that you are wrong. I truly believe that social media has killed us. We say things to people online that we would not say to them in person.
No respect.
Happy Fence Friday

A male lion (panthera leo) exhibiting the Flehmen response. Whilst this may look like a threatening baring of teeth, the purpose of this action is to draw the scent of other lion's urine into the Jacobson's organ. This facilitates recognition of other pride members and/or a lioness in oestrous. Photographed in The Kalahari, in Botswana. "The flehmen response in elk involves curling back their upper lip to expose their front teeth, which helps them analyze chemical signals, particularly pheromones, from their environment. This behavior is especially important during mating season, as it allows bulls to assess the reproductive status of females and make informed decisions about courtship"

Just before capturing this shot, the ocean was violently pounding the rocky outcrop with wave after wave. And, a few birds were flying about looking for a place too perch. When the waves suddenly subsided and colors began to appear, one bird found an ideal place to roost. Its response to what had been otherwise violent was quite measured. Now peering out at the ocean and it's less harsh nature, the birds demeanour appeared more calm toward the nature of its surroundings.

This White Stork was happily feeding when a Buzzard appeared drifting low overhead. The Stork's reaction was this threat response, surprising really as it's much larger than the Buzzard.

A strange name for a terrace (town house) on Markyate's High Street. Behind the Georgian facade you would find walls going back to the mid-17th century. The gate does also tell you that small coaches or at least horses could be accommodated in the backyard. Before the railway arrived, almost all the houses in the village were in some way or another related to the support for travellers on their way between London and the Midlands.

Response to suggestion to shave off the left side to remove a distracting small white area. Yes, I think it stops the eye from being distracted in that area. Thank you!

Dehors, du soleil.
Ce n'est qu'un soleil
mais les hommes le regardent
et ensuite ils chantent.
Je ne sais rien du soleil .
Je sais la mélodie de l'ange
et le sermon brûlant
du dernier vent.
Je sais crier jusqu'à l'aube
quand la mort se pose nue
sur mon ombre.
Je pleure sous mon nom.
J'agite des mouchoirs dans la nuit
et des bateaux assoiffés de réalité
dansent avec moi.
Je cache des clous
pour maltraiter mes rêves malades.
Dehors, du soleil.
Je m'habille de cendres.

The delince of the small Montana village of Comertown, founded in 1913, began over 100 years ago, not that it was ever much beyond a few buildings and a post office.
The railroad coming through attracted homesteaders and farmers hoping to take advantage of the locality. But the land proved to be too dry for much more than ranching.
Residents began moving away almost immediately. The post office closed in 1957. Today, one or two of the houses are occupied.
The cemetery rests upon the hill beyond town.

I've been visiting Gabriola Island since March 2005 once or twice a year and wait in Nanaimo Harbour for the local ferry to Gabriola. In all that time, I have never seen this type of vessel in the Nanaimo Harbour. As we waited in the harbour for the ferry to depart, I noticed these ocean-going tugs were actually "Spill Response" vessels.
Had no idea why they were there until we sailed out of the harbour and into the Salish Sea on route to Gabriola Island. Have a look at the "Pacific Basin" image.

I am a pro user. I pay the fee because I can and want to. Some cant. I understand you cant run a business without some funds..however this choice has long term ramifications for those who are part of a community that work and share together. If they go to another platform Then I will follow right along and I'm fairly sure others in my thinking and stance will too. I stand right along side the creators who use this as a form to show off skills work and imagination.

I am revisiting a response I gave regarding Ai usage classified as "Art".
>It is a playground for the craft –Anyone can hit “generate,” but crafting the right prompt is an art in itself.
Same muscles, new tools. Painters swap brushes; I swap models, seeds, and tweaks.
More eyeballs, more inspiration. AI lets my vision travel further and spark new ideas.
Reclaiming my story. I use these tools to honor my culture and ancestors. ((*Especially since they want to erase the Tuskegee Airman and Harriet Tubman from the books and galleries!!!)

Shooting with a snake is really interesting, and this is just one form yesterday. The Freeze Response is the response to a situation in which the person is scared into not moving- or freezing up. I found studying Flight, Fight, or Freeze Response extremely interesting in how it relates to other aspects of a persons personality and emotional mindset, and I immediately thought this photo accurately describes it.
