Photograph taken at an altitude of Fifty six metres at 08:30am on Monday 8th February 2021, during snow brought in from the continent by 'The beast from the East 2', off Woolwich Road A206 and New Road in the grounds of Lesnes Abbey Woods in the London Borough of Bexley, England.
Here we see an adult Jay (Garrulus glandarius), the most colourful of the crow family, though very shy and seldon seen for long when humans are around. They mainly eat nuts and acorns, as well as nestlings and small mammals.

This photograph was taken at an altitude of Six hundred and eleven metres at 09:57am on Tuesday 10th May 2016 off the Alaska Highway 97, with a detour onto the Old Alaska Highway Road onto Kiskatinaw Road at Kiskatinaw Bridge, Dawson Creek in British Columbia, Canada.
Kiskatinaw Bridge was originally designed and built in 1942-43 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers to provide a pioneer road for military vehicles from Dawson Creek to Big Delta, Alaska. The bridge is now the last surviving bridge of it's kind still in use, curving nine degrees and spaning 162.5 metres in length. In 1978 a new road was built that bypassed the beautifull wooden bridge, which offers wonderful view of the Kiskatinaw river and entry to the Kiskatinaw Provincial Park.

Respect for the dead is visiting them, life for the living is a reason to remember. History is losing me, but I'm holding tight to the pieces. Everywhere in the country, there are someone else's memories. Deborah Thomas died before her twentieth birthday. Already married, but not for long. 1825 is coming up on two centuries past, long before these trees guarding her grave were standing. I'm landing here in the last light of the evening, thinking of William Thomas, mourning his wife. The dead want one thing, and it's that you'll remember them for their life. The ticks in the grass are hungry, and honestly, that's just as noble a motivation. I'm just not willing to go along with it.

Here we see a male Indian Peafowl (Pavo cristatus), easily identified by it's head ornament and bright blue colour. It is also known as the common peafowl and blue peafowl, and peacock as it's male designation. The national bird of India, it is celebrated in Hindu and Greek mythology.

TEM2UM-726 of the Shaktinsk Colliery Railway System rolls alongside the R-187 heading from Shakhta Imeni Lenina with two wagons, swaying and rolling over the uneven track towards Shaktinsk. Shakhta Kazakhstanskaya forms the backdrop. May the 15th 2024.

At this point we have just passed the ventilation shafts that yesterday saw our unfortunate encounter with Big Man and the Ochrona. I am captivated by the mining backdrop here so pile out of the car and run about fifty metres over the grassland to take this view. As I press the shutter I hear Sven shouting "Duncan, stop taking photos". I look over and a white car has pulled up behind ours and its driver is speaking earnestly to Sven. I walk back and ask Sven what the matter is., as if we didn't know...He tells me we are being told to please stop photography and leave the area. I don't mind now, it seems that our visit here today has worked out well, given that we have successfully encountered and photographed this train. I agree, we shall, and actually must leave. We politely let the man know that we respect his wishes, he seems more worried than angry, we get in our car and drive away. He follows behind as far as the turn off for the control station at Shakhtinsk, which is where he leaves us and drives towards. It would seem that the train crew alerted the railway controllers who then sent the man out to stop us. That we don't encounter any other authority here seems a minor miracle.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Forty five metres at 13:23pm on an overcast summer afternoon on Tuesday 20th July 2021, off Chessington Avenue in Bexleyheath, Kent.
Here we see a juvenile Carrion crow (Corvus corone), ever the inquisitive little thing, a passerine bird of the family Corvidae and the genus Raven (Higher classification: Corvus), which is native to western Europe and eastern Asia. It can grow to twenty inches in length with a wingspan of up to thirty nine inches. This one keeps the magpie's and Jackdaw's in their place, as top of the food chain, afraid of nothing.They can reach a length of 47cm with a 104cm wingspan and a weight of up to 650g, and in the UK they are in the Green conservation list status with over one million breeding territories.

The Delphic theater, in northwest position respect of the temple of Apollo, stands on an area considerably higher than the temple itself. The theatre, in which the theatrical and musical events of Pythian games took place, was built in the 4th century BC. It was remodeled on several occasions, particularly in 160/159 BC at the expenses of king Eumenes II of Pergamon and in 67 AD on the occasion of emperor Nero's visit.
The building develops around the orchestra which, according to the standard, is flat to allow the performances of the members of the chorus. No doubt the orchestra was originally a complete circle, 7 m radius.
The cavea, “koilon”, leans against the natural slope of the mountain. A corridor called diazoma divided horizontally the cavea in two uneven sections: the lower section had 28 tiers of seats, the upper section seven. Six radially arranged staircases divide the cavea in seven cunei for the upper and lower sections. The theatre could accommodate about 4,500 spectators.
On the occasion of Nero's visit to Greece in 67 A.D. various alterations took place. The orchestra was paved and delimited by a parapet made of stone. The proscenium was replaced by a low pedestal, the pulpitum; its façade was decorated with scenes from Hercules' myth in relief, currently in the interior of the museum.
Further repairs and transformations took place in the 2nd century A.D. Pausanias mentions that these were carried out under the auspices of Herod Atticus. The theater was abandoned when the sanctuary declined in Late Antiquity.

Here we see a two male and one female Mallard Ducks eating seed from a tree stump. Mallards are dabbling ducks which breed all over temperate and sub tropical Americas, Eurasia and North Africa as well as New zealand and a host of other territories. Belonging to the waterfowl family, the males or drakes are particularly beautiful with glossy green heads and bright yellow beaks.

29 August 2019, Roccaverano, Italy - Beneficiaries of the joint FAO and Slow Food Project being showed how to milk and feed goats during a visit to Amaltea farm in the village of Roccaverano, where Robiola Cheese is produced. Slow Food and the Food and Agrlculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) are organizing a study tour this week in northwest Italy for a group of Syrian small-scale women farmers. The two organizations have teamed up to enhance the skills of small-scale women food producers from Syria, all with the aim of supporting crisis-affected communities to regain or boost their livelihoods and reviving the country's agriculture sector. Ten Syrian women will learn from farming communities in Piedmont and Liguria regions that produce and promote local organic and artisan foods marked by high quality and respect for traditions. They are expected to gain knowledge on all aspects of production, marketing and value chains of a range of products - including dairy, honey, oil, cereals, breads and vegetables - and to pass on this knowledge to other women farmers in their communities upon their return. They will also be included in the global Slow Food network of local farmers so that they can continue learning and sharing knowledge and experiences.

I look through the door window hair gel just slammed just, hiding us from the SWAT team storming out of their conference room, yelling and waving theirs fist ins in the air out of brain-dead excitement for their mega-corrupt plans. A SWAT team motivated by nothing but money....well, last time I heard SWAT isn't a great paying job so I can't completely blame them. Still, they're no better than the kind of scumbags they arrest on a daily basis....this is the goddamn GCPD, what was I expecting? Highway patrolmen in Mexico would probably make better cops than these dirty bastards. Hair gel's still holding onto my arm. Looking out the door window even after the SWAT team left the room, and presumably the entire building. Finally, he breaks the silence.
"....damn gorillas with body armor, that's all they are. You alright, Linda?"
"You're not gonna be if you keep calling me that. And if you don't tell me who the fuck you are."
"The threats are getting pretty old already, Linda. Did Jerrick never tell you about me?"
"Who. The fuck. Are you?"
"That would be a no. Abe Arlington, GCPD Detective. Hopefully you'll come to know me as Azrael."
"Abe? You're Abe?"
"So he HAS told you about me. Hasn't said enough clearly...."
"Wait, you're Azrael? So you were around with J when the Cathedral blew up?"

"That's not surprising. Branden may be gone, but SWAT pretty much stayed the same even after Gordon did everything to wipe the GCPD clean. I'd give you two some help, but I've got my own problems do deal with."

"Understandable. Anyway, just pulled up everything you need on Bane. You got anything I can upload this on?"
I hand him a 1 terabyte portable harddrive. He takes it, connects it do the massive computer bank, and starts uploading. We both stand there in silence again. me looking around the room and him watching the computer. Like earlier though, he breaks the silence again.
"So...not really my business or anything, can I ask you something?"
"What's up?"
"Why did you decide to do this?"
"Do what?"
"This, right here. This isn't exactly the safest way to spend your nights."
He's making my life a helluva lot easier right now. I owe him, I guess.
"....for as long as I can remember I've always been scared....and weak. The bravest thing I ever did before this was talk to J to get my job. I got so sick and tired of it..."
"So you became something everyone feared."

"It's my job. I'm a Detective. There's a lot a danger to this life, y'know. You can do everything to hide your face and yet people you care for can still get hurt. You can still get hurt."

Following Abe's advice, I take the hard drive and open the vent. I crawl through and it and luckily he was right. It leads right outside. I run into the parking lot and call the Sky Slayer down to pick me up. Gotta say, it's nice to know there's at least one cop in this city I can respect...

Here we see a pair of rutting male Red deer (Cervus elaphus), one of the largest of the deer species, ruminants with four chambered stomachs, which are found across most of Europe. Rutting usually occurs around September to November and includes elaborate displays of dominance, deep bellowing and roaring, parallel walks and fighting.

Another shot from the Leys of Marlee in Blairgowrie. I can think of very few previously sacred places with a modern road right through the middle. Under the management of the respected busman Thomas W.W. Knowles, Lancaster was quite a smart municipal fleet. 207 was new in 12/1979 and is seen here in the city's bus station loading for Heysham Harbour in June 1982. A similar bus is on the other side of the stand while a Duple Dominant bus bodied Leyland Leopard stands behind 207 also heading Heysham.
The film used was Agfa Colourslide with the camera being a Praktica MTL3.
