Happy New Year! This year my resolution is to start a photo project. I've been bored with my work lately, I feel like I only create images for clients. And while I love creating art for others, I definitely need a good kick in the pants to help me out of this funk, so I can get back on track and start making personal images that I find interesting. Above all else, this year I want to try new things, grow as a photographer, and create images I am proud of.
I'll admit I'm a procrastinator, so in order to force myself to accomplish my goal, I will need a deadline. I've decided that a 52 weeks project will be the best way to help me focus and see it through until the end. I will post at least one photo by Sunday of each week of this year. I don't want to set too many silly rules up front for weekly themes and such. I want to make this year a photographic journey. I'm not exactly sure where I'll end up or even who or where I will shoot. I do intend to focus on portraiture and I want all the images I create to be personal. I'm sure I'll end up with a fair amount of self portraits, but I'd love to photograph as many different people as I possibly can. I've never attempted anything like this before and it's kind of scary, yet exciting! So here we go, week one…
Happy 4th of July to all my Flickr Fans! Classic, Epic Nikon D800E Photos of a Gorgeous Blond Bikini Model Goddess in an American Flag Swimsuit with wavy-blond hair and pretty blue eyes! Pretty, pretty smile! Please share the exalted goddess with your friends for the 4th of July!
Here is some epic video I shot at the same time as the stills with the Sony Alpha NEX 6 camera with the 50 mm F/1.8 prime lens for nex6 e mount cameras bracketed to my Nikon D800E (cool bokeh!):

With the black 45surf surfboard! It gets hot in the sand in the sun!
Combine the shallow-depth-of-field with Sony NEX-6's latest face-tracking auto focus, and you can see how the moving video keeps the model's pretty blue eyes in focus, while blurring the background! The Sony Alpha NEX 6 has much better bokeh than the cameras I have been using! :)
She was tall, thin, fit, toned, defined, and beautiful!
Modeling the Gold 45 Revolver(TM) Gold'N'Virtue(TM) American Flag Bikini! Stars & Stripes Forever! :)
Nikon D800E Photographs of a Beautiful Sandy-Blonde/Brunette Swimsuit Bikini Model shot with the new Nikon D800 and Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S Nikkor Zoom Lens.

Our Daily Challenge ... resolution
It was Lachie's second birthday today and these were on the menu. After eating several I have resolved to stop attending children's birthday parties and eating Rum Balls ... without the rum!
The now iconic 15 inch guns from HMS Ramillies and HMS Resolution outside IWM’s Lambeth Road building were installed and unveiled to the public in 1968.
The removal was carried out by Robert Wynn and Sons at a cost of £2,575 for the move and £700-£800 for mounting the guns. To minimise disruption, the removal from storage at Shoeburyness to IWM was carried out at night.
IWM was founded on 5 March 1917 when the War Cabinet approved a proposal by Sir Alfred Mond MP for the creation of a national war museum to record the events still taking place during the Great War. The intention was to collect and display material as a record of everyone’s experiences during that war - civilian and military - and to commemorate the sacrifices of all sections of society.
The interest taken by the Dominion governments led to the renaming of the National War Museum to Imperial War Museum later in 1917. It was formally established by Act of Parliament in 1920 and a governing Board of Trustees appointed.
The museum was opened in the Crystal Palace by King George V on 9 June 1920. From 1924 to 1935 it was housed in two galleries adjoining the former Imperial Institute, South Kensington. On 7 July 1936, the Duke of York, shortly to become King George VI, reopened the museum in its present home on Lambeth Road, South London, formerly the central portion of Bethlem Royal Hospital, or ‘Bedlam’.
With the onset of war in 1939 IWM’s remit was extended to include the Second World War. While a programme of collecting got underway, vulnerable collections were evacuated to stores outside London, and the museum was closed to the public from September 1940 to November 1946. Most of the exhibits survived the war, but a Short Seaplane which had flown at the Battle of Jutland was shattered when a German bomb fell on the Naval Gallery on 31 January 1941. This was just one of more than 40 incendiary hits on the building throughout the war.
The Korean War led to a further redefinition of the IWM’s terms of reference to include all conflicts in which British or Commonwealth forces had been involved since 1914. IWM has therefore continued to collect every type of evidence documenting its very broad remit. Its collections are vast and rich, and in addition to its role as a museum, IWM is also a major national art gallery, a national archive of written and audio visual recourse, and a centre for research.
During the 1970s and 1980s IWM underwent a period of unprecedented expansion, with the establishment of three new branches – IWM Duxford in 1976, HMS Belfast in 1978 and Churchill War Rooms in 1984. The fifth member of the IWM family, IWM North, opened in Trafford, Greater Manchester, on 5 July 2002. www.iwm.org.uk/corporate/IWM-history
NASA image acquired: June 03, 2012
This scene is to the northwest of the recently named crater Magritte, in Mercury's south. The image is not map projected; the larger crater actually sits to the north of the two smaller ones. The shadowing helps define the striking "Mickey Mouse" resemblance, created by the accumulation of craters over Mercury's long geologic history.
This image was acquired as part of MDIS's high-incidence-angle base map. The high-incidence-angle base map is a major mapping activity in MESSENGER's extended mission and complements the surface morphology base map of MESSENGER's primary mission that was acquired under generally more moderate incidence angles. High incidence angles, achieved when the Sun is near the horizon, result in long shadows that accentuate the small-scale topography of geologic features. The high-incidence-angle base map is being acquired with an average resolution of 200 meters/pixel.
The MESSENGER spacecraft is the first ever to orbit the planet Mercury, and the spacecraft's seven scientific instruments and radio science investigation are unraveling the history and evolution of the Solar System's innermost planet. Visit the Why Mercury? section of this website to learn more about the key science questions that the MESSENGER mission is addressing. During the one-year primary mission, MESSENGER acquired 88,746 images and extensive other data sets. MESSENGER is now in a yearlong extended mission, during which plans call for the acquisition of more than 80,000 additional images to support MESSENGER's science goals.

It’s nearly that time of year when we have to make a new years resolution to either take something up , or give something up.
Tell me……how did last years diet go?
2.5X resolution increase by hand-stitching 3 frames. Not a perfect result, you can see the join lines if you look closely for them.
This is after setting up the Asahi Pentax Copystand II but before receiving the linear stage for precise shift of the negative.
Negative was taped to a piece of anti-newton ring glass for flatness and a homemade 6x4.5 plastic mask was used on a cs-lite to block extraneous light. There is less lighting irregularity than when the essential film holder is used, but still some, which is easily correctable in processing at least for black and white. f/8 and 1/60 was used to the digitization, at almost but not quite 1:1.
The process takes a few hours right now so not practical for large number of images, I'm hoping that with the linear stage, rotation will stay constant and it can be made faster. It should also help with the join lines.

Today the Hereios of the We’re Here! Group are focusing on New Year Resolutions. Here are clues to mine. I'm intent on becoming much better at Italian and on revisiting the country (Sicily this time). Other travel plans include a trip to Canada (though it'll be Toronto rather than Montreal or Quebec), and another visit to New York City. And I will work on my golf with the aim of getting my handicap index down from 27.7 to 20. And, almost needless to say, take at least one photo every day.
It's a bit too late for my 2023 plans, but I just heard about a couple who have chosen 23 things to do 23 times during the year (they began with 18 things in 2018); these include journeys on buses numbered 1 to 23. Could be fun.
If you've read all the way to this point, Happy New Year!

Frederic Remington (1861–1909) was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor, and writer. He had a great interest in the American Old West, concentrating on the image of cowboys, Native Americans, horses, and the US cavalry. He rose to prominence with interpretations of frontier life, with many of his illustrations published in popular journals such as Harper’s Weekly and Pearson’s Magazine. His nocturnal paintings were filled with color and light, moonlight, firelight, and candlelight. Nikon D800E Photographs of a Beautiful Sandy-Blonde Swimsuit Bikini Model shot with the Nikon D800E and Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S Nikkor Zoom Lens. She was a gymnast growing up in Russia! Posing with the black 45SURF surfboard. She's from Russia, with love! :)
She had on a short sweater dress, so before the shoot started, we decided to shoot the 45surf hats & Gold 45 Revolver ballcaps in the short sweater dress. Well, I think you'll like our decision. Fun model fun shoot! :)

A classic California Hero's Journey Mythology Goddess! Tall, pretty, thin, fit, with pretty brown/green/hazel/grey eyes and long, flowing sandy-blonde hair, blowing on the sea breeze.
Representing the 45SURF "man in black" hat theme! :)
Enjoy the epic beauty of the mythological hero's journey, in great detail via the Nikon D800E! :)
The full resolutions RAWs and JPEGs are amazing!
She was also modeling the new Gold 45 Revolver Hero's Journey Mythology Swimsuits!
Enjoy!
Modeling the Gold 45 Revolver" Gold'N'Virtue swimsuits & hats with the main equation to Moving Dimensions Theory on the swimsuits & new hats: dx4/dt=ic. Yes I have a Ph.D. in physics! :) You can read more about my research and Hero's Journey Physics here:
herosjourneyphysics.wordpress.com/ MDT PROOF#2: Einstein (1912 Man. on Rel.) and Minkowski wrote x4=ict. Ergo dx4/dt=ic--the foundational equation of all time and motion which is on all the shirts and swimsuits. Every photon that hits my Nikon D800e's sensor does it by surfing the fourth expanding dimension, which is moving at c relative to the three spatial dimensions, or dx4/dt=ic!
May the Hero's Journey Mythology Goddess inspire you (as they have inspired me!) along your own artistic journey! Love, love, love the 70-200mm F/2.8 Lens! :)
