Given that the Electric Imp is so easy to connect to the Internet, I wanted to create and end-to-end project. Something where the user interface (UI) would be a web page, and it would have some fashion of remote behavior on the Imp. Since I didn't have time to create a particularly robust UI, I decided on a remote light switch.
Once powered this super bright white LED can be turned on or off from anywhere in the world you have Internet access. Pretty cool! The UI is HTML/JavaScript/CSS which uses XMLHttpRequest (XHR) to send a value to a PHP script when the light switch in the UI gets clicked. The PHP script then forwards the value to the Imp, and the light is set from on to off respectively.

The results are sent to the computer via usb every 2 seconds. The Computer is running a Java-Programm thats reads the serial data from the arduino (usb-serial driver FTDI) and sends updates about the current brightness to www.twitter.com/HowBright.
I used the JTwitter Java-Lib. to communicate with Twitter.

The background is some vintage letter scrapbook paper received as an extra in an ATC trade, I think. I got the blue resistors at American Science and Surplus. The vintage people are from Ten Two Studios.
