This little church building in Detroit was once a Jewish school. Look at the incised words at the top. Detroit has lots of buildings that were once synagogues or Jewish schools now being used by Christian congregations.

I spent just about the whole weekend in the yard - cleaning and gardening. Trimmed my lilac bush for 2 hours yesterday (it now looks like this again). Clutching trimmers that long means every muscle in my hands hurt bad.
This cooler was Jeff's and he was going to toss it when he moved here (bottom is rusty and leaks) but I told him I wanted it. Good thing too - it's a cute planter for some begonias.

Inside St Mary's church Tadcaster. The church was built early C14-early C15, taken down in 1875-77, and re-erected 1.25 metres higher to make it safe from floods caused by the nearby river. They made a very good job of it.
I think that this carved stone may have been moved to its present position during the 1870s rebuilding. They've given it a jug of flowers to support. Easy retirement.

From this morning's ride....
This is a vintage schoolhouse which is now a home. It's neat as a pin. The owners have a small nursery business to the left of this photo. I've always wanted to shoot this place as it's only about a mile from my home but there is no place to pull over...unless you're on a bike.
The center stone beneath the window states "District No. 5, 1895".
