Amidst a sea of colourful squashes this double decker now serves as an ice cream servery, at Strawberry Fields, Lifton, Devon

Colonia del Sacramento is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A settlement started by the Portuguese in 1680 because of its strategic location, was subsequently taken over by the Spanish and changed hands back and forth a few times.

This old car is actually repurposed as a cozy table for two by a restaurant.

I think I will head to Restore and up a few windows. Will build this type of pitched box that I can set on top of my current raised bed to get plants in the ground sooner next spring :)

I bought this darling apron on Etsy from Georgia Peachez. It's made from vintage fabrics and trims The apron was originally flat across the front but I added two tucks to the front. I also folded the waistband over to make it a little shorter.

Host Farmers: Clare Carver & Brian Marcy, Big Table Farm, Gaston, OR (Portland)

Guest Chefs: Timothy Wastell & Eloise Augustyn, Sweedeedee, Portland, OR

Clare & Brian of Big Table Farm are longtime friends of Outstanding in the Field. Every visit over the years has been magic for both guests & the Outstanding crew. In its annual selection of the Top 100 wines in the world, Wine Spectator honored Big Table’s 2012 Pinot Noir as #11 on the list. OITF commissioned a short film about Big Table a few years back. Timothy Wastell of Sweedeedee was here last year & the consensus of those gathered was wow! All this should lead to multiple exclamations of “my goodness” along the big table at Big Table.

I went out to capture some Christmas fun at 2.7 megapixels. Because film isn’t challenging enough. Nikon D1 digital camera, still a pro, even if it isn’t up to modern ‘Hype’. It can get the job done. These were shot at ISO 200 and f/22. Using a Kodak DKL Schneider-Kreuznach Retina Xenon 50mm f/1.9 lens adapted to Nikon. That lens is late 1960s vintage repurposed from a retired Kodak Instamatic Reflex 126 camera. I meant to set the shutter speed as well, but in the end, I forgot and left the D1 to its own devices. These are Downtown, Ogden, Utah shot on Boxing Day 2021.

Repurposed a men's shirt I to a young ladies apron. 1 down, 6 to go for party gifts for my daughters 9th birthday party.

A former firehouse in Warwick, NY that is now a law office.

I took a white wire egg display that I found at Goodwill and repurposed it. I cut off the wire holders for the eggs. I filed the sharp edges flat.

I make these mosaic works using my own handmade porcelain tiles, glass shards that have been remelted in the kiln, dish fragments and repurposed microwave turntables.

I usually decide what my border will be, set it, and the design takes off from there. I don't have a plan.

I like creating them in microwave turntable plates because it allows the light to shine through the glass tiles, plus, I like knowing the old turntables haven't become trash but something valuable again. I also fire the majority of my tiles only once, to conserve energy.

These are lovely for display, or as insets for a tiled wall, portal, or table.

This one is in process, partially set and still ungrouted.

15" Diameter

Used repurposed mesh fruit bags to make a kitchen scrubbie for doing dishes.

Oh, and how did I get that sweet "lens baby" effect? Leave the camera in the car over night and then bring it inside the next morning. Take the photo as soon as you bring the camera in and there you go.

Always nice to see a building renovated into a home

This repurposed piece sits on a BSue Extra Large Necklace Collage Brass Ox Blank. Lots of room to create. It is made with vintage earrings, pins and other findings. Rhinestone flowers made with flattened filigree bead caps and loose stones.

Pallet shed created using 90% repurposed items. I used pallets for flooring, framing, and outer covering of the shed. The metal roofing is from food service size tin cans that were flattened and attached as shingles. The entire roof has been spray painted with copper metal paint.
