I love that the newer Replacement bodies come in a Baggie that's labeled with the skin tone. This wasn't always the case....I think it was Gloss Con, where the dolls were in unmarked clear baggies. The 3 bodies in the center were unlabeled from 2014.
For Reference, the 1st body (L) is Cream.
The 5th Body (R) is Japan.
I think the 2nd & 3rd bodies are Cream.
I think the 4th is closest to Japan...but it almost looks between Cream-and-Japan. *shrugs*
It was back to Basingstoke today (12/01/2025) for another look at the rail replacement operation with an impressive 13 departures an hour. A bit of a Barnes-fest certainly added brightness to an otherwise grey day.
A pair of BNSF units power a southbound CN train near Leverett, Illinois. I didn't know until I processed the image that a new door had been installed on the nose that lacked a part of the BNSF herald.

The rather inclement weather had me pondering whether or not to venture out to Basingstoke today (05/01/2025) but in the end curiosity won again! A good few captures here for you to enjoy.
There was certainly a good variety of vehicles running through Basingstoke on rail replacement duties today (Good Friday 2023). The sun made an appearance which was good to see as well!
Portsmouth & Southsea today (09/02/2025) to watch the rail replacement movements. Over 20 buses and coaches were utilised to run services between Portsmouth Harbour and Fareham (GWR), Havant (SWR) and Barnham (Southern). A lot of variety out today!

Back in August of 2016 I was working for the City of Brantford and my supervisor asked me to check out the progress of the Mohawk Street Railway Crossing replacement.
Here we see PNR Railworks crews moving the new track section into place.
The whole replacement took 3 days in total for removal, replacement and refurbishment.
I visited this crossing 3 times in one week to photograph the progress and ensure that city infrastructure was returned to how it was left.
Owing to bridge works at the junction of Brighton road & Old Lodge Lane in Purley, a replacement bus is currently in operation on temporary route 599, replacing the 455 along the stretch of road to the terminus.

The first power from the start up that WC tried to replace was the 17 ex Soo GP30's. The 1948 Alco FA trucks they rode on were a pain and the group had never been rebuilt and there was some concern about "crispy" wiring in the electrical cabinets. Only three of the group received the full WC paint scheme which was a shame because they looked damn good in it. 713 leads one of its would be replacements on an X35 at Gould City. Most of these units were retired as the GP40's came on board but due to a nearly chronic power shortage a number of them were soon back in service. Five of them managed to stay in service until 2000 and IIRC three actually operated for a few weeks after the CN take over. 713 was one of the last to go. This was shot in December 1990 and at the time I'd already made peace with the fact I wasn't going to have many more GP30 opportunities...wrong again😊.
Now onto the short double-track section between Bendigo Yard and Kangaroo Flat, Steamrail's R761 catches a burst of sun as it powers through Bendigo's outer suburbs and passes the former station in Golden Square leading A66 & N452 on train 8094; the return leg of 707 Operations' Riverlander tour from Rochester. R761 was substituted for R707 due to the latter being deemed unfit to operate the trip. 28/7/24

Well, the long anticipated "Woking Weekender" finally arrived and delivered a magnificent array of vehicles operating rail replacement services out to Weybridge, Guildford, Aldershot and Basingstoke throughout both days. No less than 34 different operators provided in excess of 70 buses, coaches and minibuses across both days including three 75-plates. And Burrows Coaches had "both" their East Lancs Darts out - EDIT - STOP PRESS! On Saturday it was LK55ADX and on Sunday it was J8UFX - first with the news!!
Now then, Woking is not the photographer's friend at this time of year due to high-rise office blocks surrounding the station area. Saturday started wet, eased off but remained rather gloomy all day, and Sunday was almost a write-off with clear blue skies and low sun. The one sunny spot we found came with a time limit as a ruddy great big lamppost shadow edged its way into shot therefore limiting use of that corner. All in all though, it proved to be a belter!! Maybe have it in the Spring next time please Network Rail?

The vehicle, in its attractive livery, was formally Dublin Bus Ringsend Depot AV11 (00-D-40011),ironically its Seaford and District fleet name is AV20!

We saw this on our way to morning - it replaced the one in this photo: www.flickr.com/photos/thadz/13633175023/ . Apparently, the owner of the store was issued a citation for the larger one and vowed to defy the county and not take it down. Can you say "Meow"?

Hints for a successful recovery - self-discipline. You must do your physical therapy every day. Force yourself to get up out of bed as early as possible after surgery, even when it hurts.
The person in this photo was without crutches within 7 weeks (with his physicians' approval).

Always good storm chasing stories to tell about my weather adventures in 2014.
Days right after my knee replacement... Home from the hospital & I definitely wasn't supposed to be out and about. Knee was almost in a cast and I wasn't supposed to be doing anything to aggravate the situation. Though my quest for severe weather never ends and I wasn't going to miss another possible chase especially when its in my backyard. This storm was going to be a photogenic monster... Decision was made & off I went.
Personal Note *** On the original set Back in 2014 I had use the free Avery photo editor here Flickr and it wasn't the best but I had no prior knowledge of editing them back then. Only shot in .jpg format and I didn't do the best by over coloring and over saturation. Was very under experienced in photo editing back then.
Another epic set of thunderstorm captures from South Central Nebraska remastered through Lightroom and Photoshop. Though I paid for it with my knee just being replaced. I was super sore and the swelling was unreal a few days after this event. All worth it when it comes to what epic views I caught storm chasing on that particular day!
