I opened my Macbook Pro to remove a stuck CD, and see what I found: my old 4GB Lexar SD card in there. I lost it long ago, just to find it inside my macbook's cd drive :D (after that mac opening feat I can finally say myself a Computer Engineer :P )
Use a drill bit only as big as the rivet. You are NOT trying to remove the plastic ONLY the metal head of the rivet.
Two hours later I pulled the masking paper and tape. After a day or so of curing, I'll lightly scuff the shiny areas and apply the clear coat, then buff it out.

Die shot of a MT1318 disk drive controller. This one was removed from a DVD-ROM disk drive. This chip controls and the mechanics and the pickup assembly, and contains the required encoders, decoders and DSPs required for DVD-ROM disk drives. It reads the densely compressed data from the disk and performs error corrections and digital signal processing. Unlike HDD controllers, this chip does not contain an ARM core. It instead contains a 8032 microcontroller for general management. The gates in this chip seem to be built on top of rows of ground and positive power rails. These are particularly visible in the top left corner.

My mother's first response to the pictures of our new house (two years
ago) was "Loose the wallpaper." We just started removing it last week...
only to find multiple layers of wallpaper... and unprimed plaster
underneath.
Message to anyone putting up wallpaper. Putting up a skim coat of
plaster to smooth the walls before putting up wallpaper is cool, but
paint on a coat of primer first. When you go to remove the wallpaper
years later, the water and wallpaper paste remover will turn the plaster
to mush. It is impossible to easily remove the wallpaper without having
to go back retexturize the walls. This is the third time I've had to
deal with it... and it's getting frustrating.

Done on the front elevation:
Removed bars on front doors
Installed new wooden first floor windows that fit the openings
Replaced weeds with flower bed
Removed stupid replacement doors
Installed refurbished pocket doors as new front doors
Ground out and repointed entire wall under corbels
Replaced light
Left to do:
Paint wooden brick-mold and new window sashes
Restore the original second floor windows
Paint tin cornices
Replace middle gutter
Replace two missing slate tiles from mansard roof
Clean slate tiles
Replace glass block infill in basement window openings with wooden sashes
Since they put double stick tape under the battery inside the battery holder, getting the battery out is tough. If you pull too hard on it, you can damage the power connectors.
Slide a slotted screwdriver under the battery towards the back and pry the battery off the tape before removing the battery.
