Every year, Realtors® Care Day offers a helping hand to homeowners in need by providing exterior home repairs and adaptive safety modifications. Regional Habitat for Humanity chapters, the City of Charlotte, and other housing partners identify homeowners who qualify for the program.
Last month, realtors and City of Charlotte Code Enforcement volunteers joined forces to make a meaningful difference in Charlotte neighborhoods. They performed various tasks such as cleaning gutters, landscaping, repairing stairs, and enhancing exterior areas. We express our gratitude for their hard work and dedication.

Relating to the 4th Ypres in 1918. The Portuguese troops had little political support at home, were badly equipped, and uniforms that were easily confused with those of the Germans. Of a force of 20 thousand men, they suffered over 7 thousand casualties.
Articles relating to the draw-down of soldiers in VIetnam. Also an interesting read on parents sending their children to private schools to avoid busing/ integration in Prince George's County, Md.

In the epilogue to The Snows of Yesteryear Rezzori returns to the city of his youth, now known by its Ukrainian name of Chernivtsi, in 1989. It is a place whose racial ferment was settled once and for all in 1945, with a massive ethnic cleansing (the Jews were the first to go, to unmarked mass graves, or to extermination camps, during the war itself) that left a racially homogenous Ukrainian city behind. He finds the buildings all meticulously preserved, but the spirit of the place—”its restlessly vicious, cynically bold and melancholically skeptical spirit”—expunged. The post-war settlement had imposed decades of continuous peace on the continent. But at what cost?

Relating directly to the riots and the way the media uses propaganda to portray young people in a negative way- particularly through out the riots where a theme of criminality was supported even by the government, who blamed the riots on young, out of control people. The t-shirt reinforces the fact that not all young people behave like those who participated in the riots, and underlines the damage this kind of stereotyping can do to a generation

Often times we'll get an equation that relates two variables we can measure (for example, the period equation seen here.) The various constants in the equation may actually be interesting to find out.
Step 1 is to line the equation up next to y=mx+b, and to decide what will be put on each axis. I squared my whole period equation because square roots give me the willies. I then could easily see by drawing circles on my equation and y=mx+b what should go on each axis.
Step 2 is to do a very good graph, using straight edges, with clear scales. Label it with symbols and units (I promise my horizontal is labeled here, it's just off the page.)
Step 3 is to draw a best fit line.
Step 4 is to pick two points on the line (not data points!) Circle them clearly and write their coordinates.
Step 5 is to get the slope USING THE EQUATION. Do not go "up 3 over 4" to get slope, this only works if the scale factor is the same on both axes.
Step 6 is to set this equal to whatever came from lining up y=mx+B
Step 7 is to solve for the constant you want. In this lab, I actually managed to get a value for g in close agreement with the accepted value, making it the most sensitive measurement of g that we do all year.
