El templo de San Pedro de Tejada es uno de los monumentos románicos burgaleses más completos y conservados.
La actual iglesia románica se erigió en la primera mitad del siglo XII, correspondiendo a lo que se llama Románico Pleno.
El edificio sorprende por su esbeltez y airosidad, no sólo por la torre que se yergue vertical sobre el primer tramo de la nave, sino también por la altura del propio cuerpo de la iglesia en relación a su anchura.

A glimpse into Chinese aesthetics and their relation with nature: a lot of geometric components in round and square motifs.
On the four edges of the square opening to the left and around the window panes on the right, the lines there as a whole denote clouds from the sky; and the curving ridge of the roof-- unlike those Gothic cathedrals pointing right into heaven-- reminds us instead of the curving fingers of Indian and court dancers.
They opened up and were very close to nature despite the fact that it rains and even snows there in winter. Other than planting trees and bamboos ( here just above the square opening on the left ) in their courtyards, they preferred bare stones from mother nature as art pieces ( in the case here, one on each side of the chamber on the right ) something that Japan has taken up to a certain extent...

If we talk about love in relation to photography, then like all love, photography requires perseverance and tolerance for different things. Lilies of the valley are somehow a difficult subject for me to photograph. I have photographed them several times this spring and early summer. Due to the cool weather, they bloomed for weeks without wilting, and still do.
The combination of white and green is challenging. In addition, their delicate nature is difficult to achieve. On top of that, while photographing this, I was bothered by aggressive ants, biting my ankles. Next, mosquitoes found me 😁

It was this recent condescension that intrigued her even more - Her husband had always defended the separation of powers! -She thought aloud while watching the autumn tones that painted the landscape around the Old Winter Palace.
Not far away, on a parapet with a privileged view, there was a curious black crow that seemed to observe all the movements that the Queen Elyandhyn made.
She had already seen him, but pretended that she hadn't noticed, since she was a child, she had no sympathy for those animals with piercing eyes and black feathers with metallic blue reflections. But what was strange is that lately it was not the first time that she had seen crows in the old palace although they were rare - I have new secret admirers, she thought as she smiled.

One of my favourite beaches in Cornwall. When the tide is out the beach stretches for miles . I love the scale of the two walkers in relation to the curving shoreline.

et il a fini par prendre son envol.

On the morning of September 1, we cruised up Tracy Arm fjord in Alaska. The nearly full moon was at a perfect level in relation to the snowy peaks.
Die Zeit der lokbespannten Züge auf der Relation Leipzig - Chemnitz dürfte nicht all zu lange mehr dauern. Mittlerweile sind die ersten Akkutriebwagen im Einsatz und ersetzen nach und nach die Loks der Baureihe 223 mit ihren Wagen.
Am sonnigen 20. Februar 2026 nutzte ich das schöne Wetter und konnte u.A. die Beacon Rail ER20-015 mit RE 74176 nach Chemnitz auf dem Göhrener Viadukt fotografieren.
Nu de nieuwe akku-treinstellen van de MRB hun intrede op de lijn Leipzig - Chemnitz hebben gedaan, verdwijnen de diesellocs uit de serie 223 met dubbeldeks binnenkort. Op 20 februari 2026 speelde het weer mee en kon ik o.a. de Beacon Rail ER20-015 met RE 74176 naar Chemnitz op de bekende brug te Göhren fotograferen.
Now that the new MRB battery operated hybrid railcars have started entering the Leipzig to Chemnitz service, the class 223 diesel locos (with passenger cars) will slowly be phased out.
On February 20th 2026 I was in Göhren and managed to get a shot of Beacon Rail engine ER20-015, crossing the famous bridge with regional train 74176 from Leipzig to Chemnitz.
The red panda has no relation to the giant panda even though both are indigenous to China, often inhabit the same territory, and both have evolved to feed on bamboo.

The red panda (Ailurus fulgens), also known as the lesser panda, is a small mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. It has dense reddish-brown fur with a black belly and legs, white-lined ears, a mostly white muzzle and a ringed tail. Its head-to-body length is 51–63.5 cm (20.1–25.0 in) with a 28–48.5 cm (11.0–19.1 in) tail, and it weighs between 3.2 and 15 kg (7.1 and 33.1 lb). It is well adapted to climbing due to its flexible joints and curved semi-retractile claws. The red panda was formally described in 1825. The two recognised subspecies, the Himalayan and the Chinese red panda, genetically diverged about 250,000 years ago. The red panda's place on the evolutionary tree has been debated, but modern genetic evidence places it in close affinity with raccoons, weasels, and skunks. It is not closely related to the giant panda, which is a bear, though both possess elongated wrist bones or "false thumbs" used for grasping bamboo. The evolutionary lineage of the red panda (Ailuridae) stretches back around 25 to 18 million years ago, as indicated by extinct fossil relatives found in Eurasia and North America. The red panda inhabits coniferous forests as well as temperate broadleaf and mixed forests, favoring steep slopes with dense bamboo cover close to water sources. It is solitary and largely arboreal. It feeds mainly on bamboo shoots and leaves, but also on fruits and blossoms. Red pandas mate in early spring, with the females giving birth to litters of up to four cubs in summer. It is threatened by poaching as well as destruction and fragmentation of habitat due to deforestation. The species has been listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List since 2015. It is protected in all range countries.
Characteristics
A numerous species in large parts of the Netherlands, but rare to missing in the northwest of the Netherlands (head of North Holland, Friesland). Recognizable by the straight neck keels, which are only slightly bent (never x-shaped), the short wings and the black back knee. In the male, the front wings are still fairly developed (but do not reach the rear knee), the rear wings are small and reach halfway to the front wings. In the female, the wings are reduced to scales.
Confusion
Long-winged specimens occasionally occur. The above characteristics must be adequate in relation to the coastal grasshopper. Furthermore, the summer grasshopper is similar to this species, however, the male has longer rear wings, the female has front wings up to the mid-abdomen and the neck keels are slightly more curved (subtle, only seen with experience in both species). Relative to the golden grasshopper, the male misses the extended tip at the tip of the abdomen and the female the red underside of the rear thigh.
Sound
The scratcher's sound is a scratchy scratch, which lasts about a second.
Habitat
Scratchers occur in all kinds of grassy situations, from places with high grass cover to places with many open areas in between. They prefer a more humid environment than species like rattles.
Appearance
Quite common throughout the Netherlands. Missing in parts of North Holland, Friesland and Groningen.
Kenmerken
Een talrijke soort in grote delen van Nederland, maar in het Noordwesten van Nederland zeldzaam tot ontbrekend (kop van Noord-Holland, Friesland). Te herkennen aan de rechte halskielen, die slechts iets ingebogen zijn (nooit x-vormig), de korte vleugels en de zwarte achterknie. Bij het mannetje zijn de voorvleugels nog redelijk ontwikkeld (maar bereiken de achterknie niet), de achtervleugels zijn daarentegen klein en reiken tot halverwege de voorvleugels. Bij het vrouwtje zijn de vleugels tot schubben gereduceerd.
Verwarring
Langvleugelige exemplaren komen af ten toe voor. De bovengenoemde kenmerken moeten ten opzichte van de kustsprinkhaan afdoende zijn. Verder lijkt de zompsprinkhaan op deze soort, echter daar heeft het mannetje langere achtervleugels, heeft het vrouwtje voorvleugels tot halverwege het achterlijf en zijn de halskielen iets meer ingebogen (subtiel, alleen met ervaring in beide soorten te zien). Ten opzichte van de gouden sprinkhaan mist het mannetje de uitgetrokken punt aan de spits van het achterlijf en het vrouwtje de rode onderkant van de achterdij.
Geluid
Het geluid van de krasser is een krassend schchchchcht, dat ongeveer een seconde duurt.
Habitat
Krassers komen in allerlei grazige situaties voor, van plekken met een hoge grasbedekking tot plekken met veel open stukken tussendoor. Ten opzichte van soorten als ratelaar prefereren ze een vochtigere omgeving.
Voorkomen
Vrij algemeen in heel Nederland. Ontbreekt in delen van Noord-Holland, Friesland en Groningen.

Bereits zur Zeit der Römer war die Relation durch das Rohrachtal zwischen Geislingen und Amstetten ein bedeutender Handelsweg, welcher über die Jahrhunderte weiter an Bedeutung gewann.
Mit der Eisenbahn aber, kam ein neuer Verkehrsträger zum Vorschein, welcher für die damalige Zeit bahnbrechend schnell und zuverlässig Personen und Güter von A nach B brachte.
So war es nur eine Frage der Zeit und der Planung, wie die Schwäbische Alb zwischen Stuttgart und Ulm, überwunden werden konnte.
1850 war es dann schließlich soweit, die Eisenbahn brachte nun Güter und Personen zuverlässig über die Alb.
Der steilste Abschnitt war dabei der ca. 5 Kilometer lange Teil zwischen Geislingen und Amstetten.
Bis in die Gegenwart hat sich dabei der Einsatz der Schiebelokomotiven gehalten, welcher früher primär dem Einsatz der Dampflokomotiven unterlag.
Seit der Elektrifizierung 1933 wurde der Einsatz der Schiebelokomotiven zwar weniger, aber hält bis in die Gegenwart an.
Anfangs zu Dampflokzeiten von Württembergischen T3, T4, K vertreten, änderte sich seit 1933 der Einsatz zu Elektrolokomotiven, wie die E93 und E94. Gefolgt von den Einheitslokomitoven, kamen/kommen bis in die 2020er Jahre 151er und in der Gegenwart die 185er zum Einsatz.
In der Gegenwart werden nur noch wenige Güter und Personenzüge nachgeschoben, aber bilden immernoch das täglich Brot für die TRAXX von DB Cargo in Geislingen.
Gerne kam zu Zeiten, als der IC118/119/2012/2013 nur mit einer 218 fuhr der Nachschiebeeinsatz auch an Fernzügen zum Einsatz. Wer mehr dazu wissen möchte: hier entlang: de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geislinger_Steige
Der hochwertige Fernverkehr war seit Tag 1 der Geislinger Steige zudem ein wichtiges Rückgrat.
So war die Baureihe 103, sowie die Vorserien E03 001 bestimmt nicht zum ersten Mal am 28.06.2025 auf der 22,5‰ steilen Strecke anzutreffen.
Zur Feier des 175 jährigen Jubiläums gab es neben Dampf-Pendelfahrten, auch die E03 001, welche mit einer Rheingold-Garnitur zwischen Stuttgart und Ulm pendelte.
Am 29.06.2025 zog die E03 001 den D339 vom Ulm nach Stuttgart gegen kurz nach 17 Uhr ihren authentischen Reisezug im Stil der 1970er Jahre die Steige hinab, zum nächsten halt am großen Bahnhofsfest in Geislingen. Dort konnte neben einer Taufe eines Flirt von Arverio auf "Geislingen an der Steige" neben Snacks, Lokomotiven und musikalischer Unterhaltung auch das Stellwerk, sowie vieles mehr besichtigt werden. Ein Stockwerkschaltapprat (auch unter anderen Namen wie Kopierapparat bekannt) war früher Teil einer Aufzugsanlage. Er bildete die Position und Bewegung der Aufzugkabine in Relation zu wichtigen Merkmalen des Aufzugsschachts, insbesondere der Haltepunkte an den Stockwerken, elektromechanisch ab. Seine Schaltkontakte waren mit einer relaisbasierten Aufzugssteuerung verbunden. Heute üblich sind Schachtinformationssysteme, welche auf einer Echtzeit-Messung der Kabinenposition im Aufzugsschacht basieren.

A floor switch apparatus (also known under different names such as copying apparatus) used to be part of an elevator system. It mapped the position and movement of the elevator car in relation to important features of the hoistway, in particular the landings at the floors in an electro mechanical manner. Its switching contacts were coupled to a relay-based elevator controller. The state-of the art solution is a hoistway information system that is based on real-time measurement of the car position in the hoistway.
Seit dem Winterfahrplanwechsel 2023/2024 ist die Relation Hof - München wieder in der Hand von DB Regio. Zum Einsatz kommen dabei Doppelstockwagen, die auf dem Abschnitt Regensburg - Hof von der Baureihe 218 gezogen werden. Wer hätte das im Jahre 2024 gedacht. Das Teilstück Regensburg - München wird von meist von einer Baureihe 146 gefahren. Oft genug mischt hier jedoch die Baureihe 111 mit und fährt einige Umläufe. Durch den Fahrtrichtungswechsel in Regensburg wird regelmäßig Lok vor Steuerwagen gefahren, was dafür sorgt, das viele neue Perspektiven Lichttechnisch möglich sind. Am Abend des 24. September war 111 062, die noch ihre alten Scherenstromabnehmer besitzt auf dem RE2 unterwegs. Nachdem sie den RE4860 nach Regensburg brachte, übernahm sie von 218 423 den RE4865. Im klaren Abendlicht konnte sie von mir kurz hinter Pulling bei Freising aufgenommen werden.

Der München–Nürnberg-Express – eine Relation, die die beiden bayerischen Metropolen stündlich miteinander verbindet. Das Konzept wurde über viele Jahre mit ehemaligen Intercity-Wagen von DB Fernverkehr betrieben – oder besser gesagt: betrieben werden sollte.
Mit dem Fahrplanwechsel im Dezember 2016 schien das Schicksal dieser Garnituren besiegelt. Für diesen Zeitpunkt waren die neu bestellten Škoda-Wendezüge vorgesehen, gezogen von der Baureihe 102, die den altgedienten Wendezug endgültig ablösen sollten. Doch wie so oft kam es anders: Technische Probleme, Zulassungsverzögerungen und Kinderkrankheiten sorgten dafür, dass sich die Inbetriebnahme um mehrere Jahre verzögerte. Erst Ende 2020 bzw. im Laufe des Jahres 2021 nahmen die neuen Garnituren schrittweise den Betrieb auf. Für den alten „MÜNEX“ schien damit endgültig Schluss zu sein.
Doch auch hier bewahrheitete sich einmal mehr das Motto: „Legends never die.“
Die Škoda-Garnituren erwiesen sich als äußerst störanfällig und litten unter massiver Unzuverlässigkeit. Infolge dessen griff man 2024 erneut auf bewährtes Material zurück und reaktivierte eine klassische MÜNEX-Garnitur. Zwar waren die originalen MÜNEX-Wagen inzwischen größtenteils zum IRE 200 nach Ulm abgewandert, doch DB Regio ließ mehrere Wagen erneut im ursprünglichen MÜNEX-Design lackieren. So wurde der München–Nürnberg-Express mit zunächst einer Garnitur wiederbelebt – eine zweite soll in Zukunft perspektivisch folgen.
An einem kalten Dezembermorgen organisierten ein Kollege und ich schließlich eine Fahrradtour nach Vierkirchen, um genau diese außergewöhnliche Kombination festzuhalten: 101 013 im Intercity Design mit den deklassierten Intercitywagen. Ein echter Rollentausch des Rollmaterials – Wahnsinn!
Die Leistungen der Erzzüge in der Relation Hamburger Hafen - Salzgitter – Hamburger Hafen hatten und haben immer eine hohe Priorität auf dieser Strecke. Und wenn der Zug mal nicht im Plan war, dann wurde er beileibe nicht einfach an den Rand gestellt, sondern, wenn möglich, aufs „falsche Gleis“ geleitet, damit eine fliegende Überholung durch einen ICE ermöglicht wurde.
Radbruch an der Ladestraße, hört sich schon fast so wehmütig an wie Neustadt an der Knatter oder Pößneck o. Bahnhof?
Nun, so viel Poesie wohnte dieser Fotostelle am Rande Hamburgs dann doch nicht inne.
Geliebt oder gehaßt in der regionalen Szene, beschreibt diese Örtlichkeit dann vielleicht ein wenig besser?
Natürlich kann ich gar nicht unvoreingenommen sein, zu oft kam ich dort auf dem Heimwege wie zufällig vorbei und möglicherweise habe ich dort auch zu viele Stunden verbracht?
Aber wo gab es weit nach dem Jahrtausendwechsel noch Oberleitung mit Quertragwerken, alte Lichtsignaltechnik, die Bauform der Bahnsteiglampen und wie selbstverständlich funktionierende Bahnsteiguhren, niedrige Bahnsteige und von Wind & Wetter gegerbte Bahnsteighäuschen aus Waschbeton? Quasi ein letztes Refugium der alten Bundesbahn der 1970er und 1980er Jahre?
Dazu eng getakteter Verkehr mit allerlei abwechslungsreichen Leistungen.
Nun, der Fortschritt hat auch hier in voller Gänze Einzug gehalten und das ganze Ensemble ist vorbildlich mit allen Zipp & Zapp auf Neuzeit getrimmt worden.
Für 155 148 und ihren Zug drückte ich ein Jahr später letztmalig in Radbruch an der Ladestraße auf den Auslöser.
Seit dem war ich nicht mehr dort, und mein Heimweg führt jetzt oft über andere Wege, besser ist das wohl…

A small, rotund wader, the ringed plover nests on bare gravel, shingle and sand at the coast and around flooded gravel pits and reservoirs. Unlike its relation, the little ringed plover, it is a resident species in the UK, although it is joined by wintering birds from Europe. Like other plovers, it forages for invertebrates and crustaceans in a particular way: standing and watching, running forward, pecking, then standing still again.
Depending on their position in relation to the sunlight and the camera, Speckle Wood Butterflies are sometimes showing wonderful hues of pink, yellow, green and blue in the hair covering their back. This is what I noticed first on this capture.

The Irving and Exy Johnson, loaded with visitors for an outer harbor tour. These twin square-rigged vessels were hand made by the Los Angeles Maritime Institute for use in the Top Sail Youth Program. Named after the famed sailing couple who circled the world four times in eleven years, in the brigantine Yankee.
Eine ganze Reihe von Güterzügen der Relation Deutschland - Spanien (reimt sich leider nicht annähernd so schön aufeinander wie im Französischen...;)) passiert Frankreich als Transitland. Von den deutsch-französischen Grenzbahnhöfen aus steuern die Verkehre, die vornehmlich der Automobillogistik oder dem Containertransport dienen, die Spurwechselbahnhöfe Hendaye/Irùn einerseits sowie Cerbère/Portbou andererseits an. Seit ein paar Jahren kommen in geringem Umfang Züge über die LGV/LAV Perpignan – Figueres hinzu.
Einer der Züge über den östlichsten, direkt an der Mittelmeerküste gelegenen Grenzübergang war der KLV-Zug 41259 ([Köln Eifeltor -] Apach - Portbou), dessen Container schon über 1200 Kilometer, davon rund 1000 auf französischem Boden, zurückgelegt hatten, als ich ihn am 6. März 2014 mit einer Prima der Reihe BB 27000 an der Spitze kurz vor Cerbère im äußersten Zipfel des Hexagons abpasste. Ab Portbou wird es für die Fracht weiter nach Granollers bei Barcelona und zum Mittelmeerhafen Tarragona gehen.
Auf seiner langen Reise erlebte der Zug dabei auch einen Wechsel der Jahreszeiten. Während zu Hause in Deutschland der Frühling noch überhaupt nicht in Fahrt gekommen war, zeigte sich die Natur an der Côte Vermeille bereits deutlich freundlicher, trotz des recht unangenehmen Windes, der mir von diesem Tag noch in Erinnerung geblieben ist...
