El templo de San Pedro de Tejada es uno de los monumentos románicos burgaleses más completos y conservados.
La actual iglesia románica se erigió en la primera mitad del siglo XII, correspondiendo a lo que se llama Románico Pleno.
El edificio sorprende por su esbeltez y airosidad, no sólo por la torre que se yergue vertical sobre el primer tramo de la nave, sino también por la altura del propio cuerpo de la iglesia en relación a su anchura.

A glimpse into Chinese aesthetics and their relation with nature: a lot of geometric components in round and square motifs.
On the four edges of the square opening to the left and around the window panes on the right, the lines there as a whole denote clouds from the sky; and the curving ridge of the roof-- unlike those Gothic cathedrals pointing right into heaven-- reminds us instead of the curving fingers of Indian and court dancers.
They opened up and were very close to nature despite the fact that it rains and even snows there in winter. Other than planting trees and bamboos ( here just above the square opening on the left ) in their courtyards, they preferred bare stones from mother nature as art pieces ( in the case here, one on each side of the chamber on the right ) something that Japan has taken up to a certain extent...

If we talk about love in relation to photography, then like all love, photography requires perseverance and tolerance for different things. Lilies of the valley are somehow a difficult subject for me to photograph. I have photographed them several times this spring and early summer. Due to the cool weather, they bloomed for weeks without wilting, and still do.
The combination of white and green is challenging. In addition, their delicate nature is difficult to achieve. On top of that, while photographing this, I was bothered by aggressive ants, biting my ankles. Next, mosquitoes found me 😁

This picture shows just how large the 'little friend' friend is in relation to the bomber. A fully loaded P47D weighed around 8 tons and were developed to have sufficient range to accompany the B17s on bombing missions all the way from England to Germany and back.
In den frühen Morgenstunden verschwimmen auf den Hochplateaus des französischen Juras schon einmal die Jahreszeiten. Auch im Frühjahr und Herbst sind knackige Minusgrade, teils gepaart mit einer schon oder noch in winterliches Gewand gekleideten Landschaft, dann an der Tagesordnung. So zeigte das Thermometer am 23. Oktober 2021 um kurz nach acht zünftige 6 Grad unter Null an, als ich mit hoch aufgestelltem Mantelkragen und ein bisschen Fingergymnastik auf einer Waldwegbrücke im Forêt de la Joux, der mit seinen mächtigen bis zu 50 Meter hohen Nadelbäumen beindruckt, auf den ersten (und an diesem Tag wegen Bauarbeiten in Dijon auch einzigen) TGV von Lausanne nach Paris wartete.
So war ich froh, dass schon wenige Minuten nach Sonnenaufgang und damit absolut pünktlich die funkelnden Spitzenlichter des Euroduplex, wie er seit Ende 2019 auf dieser Relation eingesetzt wird, in der reifüberzogenen Landschaft auftauchten. Neben dem Heulen der Triebköpfe klang bei der Vorbeifahrt des TGV 9264 (Lausanne - Paris Lyon) noch ein ganz anderes Geräusch mit: Das Kratzen des Stromabnehmers an der vereisten Fahrleitung, die die Funken nur so sprühen ließ!
Während der Zug sogleich den (ehemaligen) Bahnhof Boujailles, der heute nur noch als Überleitstelle vom zwei- in den eingleisigen Abschnitt fungiert, passieren und sich mittels zahlreicher Kurven der Saône-Niederung entgegen winden wird, blicken wir - durch das Teleobjektiv verdichtet - über die vom Reif bedeckten Weiden und einige Ställe hinweg weit in den Jura hinein. Die am weitesten hinten gelegene Gebirgskette befindet sich dabei bereits auf Schweizer Territorium. Die höchste sichtbare Erhebung müsste der 1607 Meter hohe Chasseron im Waadtländer Jura oberhalb von Yverdon sein.

Not far away, on a parapet with a privileged view, there was a curious black crow that seemed to observe all the movements that the Queen Elyandhyn made.
She had already seen him, but pretended that she hadn't noticed, since she was a child, she had no sympathy for those animals with piercing eyes and black feathers with metallic blue reflections. But what was strange is that lately it was not the first time that she had seen crows in the old palace although they were rare - I have new secret admirers, she thought as she smiled.

Southern ground hornbills are carnivorous and mostly hunt on the ground, where they find the majority of their food. This food ranges from insects to small animals. Their nests are often found in high in tree cavities or other shallow cavities, such as rock holes in cliff faces. These birds are a long lived species, having lifespans in the range of 50–60 years, and up to 70 in captivity. In relation to their long lives, they do not reach sexual maturity until 4–6 years old, and begin breeding around 10 years old. Bamboo
Tanabe Chikuunsai IV, who is of the fourth generation of one of Japan’s most renowned bamboo artist families, is known for his large-scale site-specific installations. With his academic sculpture education and the handcraft he learned from his family, he adapts traditional bamboo work to a contemporary approach and form, forcing the limits of his material to the utmost with respect to aesthetics and resilience.
In his work depicting the motions and forms of nature, Chikunsaai IV questions the contemporary human being’s relation with nature. The organic material he uses reminds the spectators of the sophisticated stories of Asian mythology, inviting them to become part of a tale. In his sculptures, we see the elegance of centuries old Japanese culture in its simplest form. For the site-specific installation he built for Odunpazarı Modern Museum (OMM), the artist used the five main constituents of nature as a theme: Water, fire, air, earth and humanity.

Die Zeit der lokbespannten Züge auf der Relation Leipzig - Chemnitz dürfte nicht all zu lange mehr dauern. Mittlerweile sind die ersten Akkutriebwagen im Einsatz und ersetzen nach und nach die Loks der Baureihe 223 mit ihren Wagen.
Am sonnigen 20. Februar 2026 nutzte ich das schöne Wetter und konnte u.A. die Beacon Rail ER20-015 mit RE 74176 nach Chemnitz auf dem Göhrener Viadukt fotografieren.
Nu de nieuwe akku-treinstellen van de MRB hun intrede op de lijn Leipzig - Chemnitz hebben gedaan, verdwijnen de diesellocs uit de serie 223 met dubbeldeks binnenkort. Op 20 februari 2026 speelde het weer mee en kon ik o.a. de Beacon Rail ER20-015 met RE 74176 naar Chemnitz op de bekende brug te Göhren fotograferen.
Now that the new MRB battery operated hybrid railcars have started entering the Leipzig to Chemnitz service, the class 223 diesel locos (with passenger cars) will slowly be phased out.
On February 20th 2026 I was in Göhren and managed to get a shot of Beacon Rail engine ER20-015, crossing the famous bridge with regional train 74176 from Leipzig to Chemnitz.

Long exposure (LE) is the opposite of Intended Camera Movement (ICM): both techniques require a long exposure time. While in ICM you pan the camera in relation to a (still) scene, in LE you hold it in relation to a moving subject (preferably on a tripod). Here is a LE of the cliffs between the Mawella and the neighboring Hiru beach. The surf has smeared itself with its movement, while the boulders remain sharp... well, almost.
The red panda has no relation to the giant panda even though both are indigenous to China, often inhabit the same territory, and both have evolved to feed on bamboo.

The red panda (Ailurus fulgens), also known as the lesser panda, is a small mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. It has dense reddish-brown fur with a black belly and legs, white-lined ears, a mostly white muzzle and a ringed tail. Its head-to-body length is 51–63.5 cm (20.1–25.0 in) with a 28–48.5 cm (11.0–19.1 in) tail, and it weighs between 3.2 and 15 kg (7.1 and 33.1 lb). It is well adapted to climbing due to its flexible joints and curved semi-retractile claws. The red panda was formally described in 1825. The two recognised subspecies, the Himalayan and the Chinese red panda, genetically diverged about 250,000 years ago. The red panda's place on the evolutionary tree has been debated, but modern genetic evidence places it in close affinity with raccoons, weasels, and skunks. Bereits zur Zeit der Römer war die Relation durch das Rohrachtal zwischen Geislingen und Amstetten ein bedeutender Handelsweg, welcher über die Jahrhunderte weiter an Bedeutung gewann.
Mit der Eisenbahn aber, kam ein neuer Verkehrsträger zum Vorschein, welcher für die damalige Zeit bahnbrechend schnell und zuverlässig Personen und Güter von A nach B brachte.
So war es nur eine Frage der Zeit und der Planung, wie die Schwäbische Alb zwischen Stuttgart und Ulm, überwunden werden konnte.
1850 war es dann schließlich soweit, die Eisenbahn brachte nun Güter und Personen zuverlässig über die Alb.
Der steilste Abschnitt war dabei der ca. 5 Kilometer lange Teil zwischen Geislingen und Amstetten.
Bis in die Gegenwart hat sich dabei der Einsatz der Schiebelokomotiven gehalten, welcher früher primär dem Einsatz der Dampflokomotiven unterlag.
Seit der Elektrifizierung 1933 wurde der Einsatz der Schiebelokomotiven zwar weniger, aber hält bis in die Gegenwart an.
Anfangs zu Dampflokzeiten von Württembergischen T3, T4, K vertreten, änderte sich seit 1933 der Einsatz zu Elektrolokomotiven, wie die E93 und E94. Gefolgt von den Einheitslokomitoven, kamen/kommen bis in die 2020er Jahre 151er und in der Gegenwart die 185er zum Einsatz.
In der Gegenwart werden nur noch wenige Güter und Personenzüge nachgeschoben, aber bilden immernoch das täglich Brot für die TRAXX von DB Cargo in Geislingen.
Gerne kam zu Zeiten, als der IC118/119/2012/2013 nur mit einer 218 fuhr der Nachschiebeeinsatz auch an Fernzügen zum Einsatz. Wer mehr dazu wissen möchte: hier entlang: de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geislinger_Steige
Der hochwertige Fernverkehr war seit Tag 1 der Geislinger Steige zudem ein wichtiges Rückgrat.
So war die Baureihe 103, sowie die Vorserien E03 001 bestimmt nicht zum ersten Mal am 28.06.2025 auf der 22,5‰ steilen Strecke anzutreffen.
Zur Feier des 175 jährigen Jubiläums gab es neben Dampf-Pendelfahrten, auch die E03 001, welche mit einer Rheingold-Garnitur zwischen Stuttgart und Ulm pendelte.
Am 29.06.2025 zog die E03 001 den D339 von Ulm nach Stuttgart gegen kurz nach 17 Uhr ihren authentischen Reisezug im Stil der 1970er Jahre die Steige hinab, zum nächsten halt am großen Bahnhofsfest in Geislingen. Dort konnte neben einer Taufe eines Flirt von Arverio auf "Geislingen an der Steige" neben Snacks, Lokomotiven und musikalischer Unterhaltung auch das Stellwerk, sowie vieles mehr besichtigt werden. No relation, but we couldn't pass by this bench on top of the seawall at Winchelsea Beach without spending 30 minutes or so resting up and partaking of ice-cream from the van nearby. 36 years is no age to lose the gift of life - I hope our idle conversation and company encouraged her spirit to dance just that little bit higher.

A small, rotund wader, the ringed plover nests on bare gravel, shingle and sand at the coast and around flooded gravel pits and reservoirs. Unlike its relation, the little ringed plover, it is a resident species in the UK, although it is joined by wintering birds from Europe. Like other plovers, it forages for invertebrates and crustaceans in a particular way: standing and watching, running forward, pecking, then standing still again.

In relation to this photo taken by Piotrek my short photo comment of an old man, who wasn't so brave to climb the embankment and being exposed to any would-be sniper, took the risk of shooting this wonderful locomotive or more precisely a traction unit from the ground level. The same ОПЭ1-390 with 4-axle traction-dumpcar (isn't clever to have a motor car with easy axle load setup?) and dozen of 6-axle "normal" dumpcars with stone (barren rock), as a mining waste climb slightly up towards the prisms of such stone. Note, the first 5 dumpcars are of Polish origin (recognizable by the shape of their walls), and another, only half in the picture is Soviet.
And two dark silhouettes on the very right side are my trip kids, Piotrek and Danil, our third compañero. September 15, 2026.
When Piotrek published his photo, he gave an extensive story of these big locomotives, consisting of usually electric part, diesel part, and motor (dumpcar) part. What I have found being there was a fact, that diesel engine is either disabled or removed from the diesel section of the locomotive. Surely one of us will publish a photo of another ОПЭ1 shot from above with the roof of the formally diesel part clean as hospital's operating room. No sign of a soot, so typical for 14D40 diesel engine, well known from M62/ST44 locomotives. Indeed, all tracks used by ОПЭ1's are fully electrified either with overhead or side wires, so it looks like diesel sections aren't used there.
We found however one, just one unloading point at the very bottom of the pit, where the barren rock is used to fill the place after the coal seam was totally excavated and no deeper excavation is planned. The place wasn't privided with catenary in any way. The unit that came there consisted of three sections, with diesel part still inactive, however instead of traction dumpcar, there was another unit that could be diesel engine and motor car in one.
I was deeply searching the Internet, trying to solve how ОПЭ1's operate in Богатырь Көмір, but with no success. The best in terms of knowledge base known Russian photogallery and forum seem to just skip this matter. Also other sources don't clearly state whether diesel section of Bogatyr's ОПЭ1's operate or not. Maybe someone can help in this investigation?

Die Leistungen der Erzzüge in der Relation Hamburger Hafen - Salzgitter – Hamburger Hafen hatten und haben immer eine hohe Priorität auf dieser Strecke. Und wenn der Zug mal nicht im Plan war, dann wurde er beileibe nicht einfach an den Rand gestellt, sondern, wenn möglich, aufs „falsche Gleis“ geleitet, damit eine fliegende Überholung durch einen ICE ermöglicht wurde.
Radbruch an der Ladestraße, hört sich schon fast so wehmütig an wie Neustadt an der Knatter oder Pößneck o. Bahnhof?
Nun, so viel Poesie wohnte dieser Fotostelle am Rande Hamburgs dann doch nicht inne.
Geliebt oder gehaßt in der regionalen Szene, beschreibt diese Örtlichkeit dann vielleicht ein wenig besser?
Natürlich kann ich gar nicht unvoreingenommen sein, zu oft kam ich dort auf dem Heimwege wie zufällig vorbei und möglicherweise habe ich dort auch zu viele Stunden verbracht?
Aber wo gab es weit nach dem Jahrtausendwechsel noch Oberleitung mit Quertragwerken, alte Lichtsignaltechnik, die Bauform der Bahnsteiglampen und wie selbstverständlich funktionierende Bahnsteiguhren, niedrige Bahnsteige und von Wind & Wetter gegerbte Bahnsteighäuschen aus Waschbeton? Quasi ein letztes Refugium der alten Bundesbahn der 1970er und 1980er Jahre?
Dazu eng getakteter Verkehr mit allerlei abwechslungsreichen Leistungen.
Nun, der Fortschritt hat auch hier in voller Gänze Einzug gehalten und das ganze Ensemble ist vorbildlich mit allen Zipp & Zapp auf Neuzeit getrimmt worden.
Für 155 148 und ihren Zug drückte ich ein Jahr später letztmalig in Radbruch an der Ladestraße auf den Auslöser.
Seit dem war ich nicht mehr dort, und mein Heimweg führt jetzt oft über andere Wege, besser ist das wohl…

Der München–Nürnberg-Express – eine Relation, die die beiden bayerischen Metropolen stündlich miteinander verbindet. Das Konzept wurde über viele Jahre mit ehemaligen Intercity-Wagen von DB Fernverkehr betrieben – oder besser gesagt: betrieben werden sollte.
Mit dem Fahrplanwechsel im Dezember 2016 schien das Schicksal dieser Garnituren besiegelt. Für diesen Zeitpunkt waren die neu bestellten Škoda-Wendezüge vorgesehen, gezogen von der Baureihe 102, die den altgedienten Wendezug endgültig ablösen sollten. Doch wie so oft kam es anders: Technische Probleme, Zulassungsverzögerungen und Kinderkrankheiten sorgten dafür, dass sich die Inbetriebnahme um mehrere Jahre verzögerte. Erst Ende 2020 bzw. im Laufe des Jahres 2021 nahmen die neuen Garnituren schrittweise den Betrieb auf. Für den alten „MÜNEX“ schien damit endgültig Schluss zu sein.
Doch auch hier bewahrheitete sich einmal mehr das Motto: „Legends never die.“
Die Škoda-Garnituren erwiesen sich als äußerst störanfällig und litten unter massiver Unzuverlässigkeit. Infolge dessen griff man 2024 erneut auf bewährtes Material zurück und reaktivierte eine klassische MÜNEX-Garnitur. Zwar waren die originalen MÜNEX-Wagen inzwischen größtenteils zum IRE 200 nach Ulm abgewandert, doch DB Regio ließ mehrere Wagen erneut im ursprünglichen MÜNEX-Design lackieren. So wurde der München–Nürnberg-Express mit zunächst einer Garnitur wiederbelebt – eine zweite soll in Zukunft perspektivisch folgen.
An einem kalten Dezembermorgen organisierten ein Kollege und ich schließlich eine Fahrradtour nach Vierkirchen, um genau diese außergewöhnliche Kombination festzuhalten: 101 013 im Intercity Design mit den deklassierten Intercitywagen. Ein echter Rollentausch des Rollmaterials – Wahnsinn!

Il fut un temps sur la terre ou le Grand Corbeau, à l’origine de toutes choses, de toutes vies, s’élevât dans le ciel pour contempler son œuvre…
Chaque ruisseau, chaque rivière ou lac, chaque arbre ou fleur, chaque animal, chaque homme étant le fruit de sa vision.
Satisfait du résultat, il s’autorisât un repos mérité au bord d’un lac.
Songe ou réalité, un cygne vint à passer devant lui…
Penché au dessus de l’eau celle-ci lui renvoyât son reflet et il se mit à rêver… devenir blanc, devenir cygne et chanter en fendant gracieusement l’eau.
Alors sur la terre le temps s’arrêtât. Le vent entre les montagnes murmurât au ciel de faire son possible pour réaliser le rêve du grand Corbeau.
C’est ainsi que Raven, unique et majestueux Corbeau blanc, naquit.
Durant de nombreuses années il entreprit de sauvegarder le monde qu’il avait créé.
Mais courroucé par l’avidité et la corruption qui régnaient parmi les hommes, les dieux décidèrent de les priver du feu… peu à peu la terre devenait hostile et glaciale, alors le Corbeau Raven tenta de leur venir en aide.
Un rameau de bois sec dans le bec il prit son envol et à tire d’aile vola vers le soleil brulant jusqu’à ce que son rameau s’enflamme.
Ainsi rapporta- t’il le feu aux hommes, mais ses plumes étaient devenues noires comme du charbon et son gosier brulé n’émettait plus qu’un croassement strident.
Depuis ce jour tous les corbeaux sont noirs, mais il arrive parfois que dans une même couvée apparaisse un oiseau blanc pour rappeler à tous le sacrifice de Raven.
Aujourd’hui et pour toujours noir, le rêve restât un rêve, le grand Corbeau continuât de chercher la toute première rivière, le tout premier lieu de sa création pour espérer changer son apparence.
Photographe de nature, cette image je l’ai pensé souvent sans parvenir à faire de l’instant une évocation de cette légende Amérindienne.
Alors quand j’ai vu dans mon viseur ce corbeau relevant la tète au passage de ce cygne devant lui, c’est bien évidement à Raven que j’ai pensé…
La photographie de nature est à l’évidence créatrice d’émotions en relation avec nos croyances animistes ou non mais elle est surtout propice
à nous faire nous aussi rêver…

With a dry twig in his beak, he took flight and flew swiftly toward the burning sun until his twig burst into flames.
Thus he brought fire back to humankind, but his feathers had turned as black as coal, and his burned throat emitted only a shrill croak.
From that day on, all ravens are black, but sometimes a white bird appears in the same brood to remind everyone of Raven's sacrifice.
Now and forever black, the dream remained a dream, and the great Raven continued to search for the very first river, the very first place of his creation, hoping to change his appearance.
As a nature photographer, I've often thought about this image without managing to capture the moment as an evocation of this Native American legend.
So when I saw in my viewfinder that raven raising its head as the swan passed by, it was obviously Raven I thought of…
Nature photography clearly evokes emotions related to our animistic or other beliefs, but above all, it allows us to dream as well…

Nördlich von Grenoble verläuft die Bahnstrecke nach Valence und Lyon gemeinsam bis Moirans, entprechend viel ist auf diesem Abschnitt los. Bis zu 4 Nahverkehrszüge pro Stunde / Richtung gibt es. Fotogen ist die Ecke auch ... noch mehr mit der Drohne.
Die Züge der Relation Valence - Annecy sind zudem 2026 noch zumeist lokbespannte Züge mit CORAIL TER Wagenmaterial. Auch dieser Zug, der auf dem Weg nach Valence ist.
