S'observen en la construcció del castell tres fases ben diferenciades: d'una banda, la torre quadrada de basse atalussada amb carreus regulars de grans dimensions, que és l'element més antic, possiblement pensada com a torre de vigilància, i, de l'altra, dues ampliacions posteriors, una al llarg del segle XVI i l'altra del 1659, com s'aprecia en el ràfec-canaló de pedra sobre la porta d'entrada.
El cos principal és de planta poligonal, amb façanes molt massisses. Té tres plantes, amb el mur realitzat en grans carreus de pedra regulars. A la planta baixa s'obre la porta adovellada i un escut d'armes partit entre bandes i àguiles. A continuació, s'alcen dues plantes, on hi ha finestres quadrades amb motllures i la presència de les restes d'un matacà. La planta més alta presenta, en totes les façanes, una galeria d'arcs petits de mig punt i un ràfec-canaló de pedra que rematen l'edifici. La torre presenta finestres rectangulars amb diferens motllures i restes de corsera a la part superior. La resta de façanes són gairebé massisses, i només presenten mínimes obertures de petites dimensions. A la part inferior de la torre es conserva l'entrada a el que podia ser la cisterna per proporcionar aigua al castell.
El castell de l'Aranyó ja es mencionat a principis del segle XII amb el nom de "Castrum Arigui". Al segle XIII era regentat per la família Montsuar i a la fi del segle XIV era senyor Arnau d'Alta-riba. Fou propietat d'importants famílies de Cervera i a les darreries del segle XVI, concretament al 1569, es va procedir a la reconstrucció de l'edifici sobre les restes de la primitiva fortalesa. A partir de l'any 1831 van ser senyors els Pedrolo-Gomar. En aquest castell va nàixer l'any 1918 l'escriptor català Manuel de Pedrolo.

La presentación de "Lo que No te Dije" el Tercer Disco de La Horchata Regular Band se llevo a cabo el 17 de septiembre de 2014 en el HardRock Café Guatemala. A la presentación asistieron otros músicos no solo a escuchar esta nueva propuesta de la banda sino también a participar con ellos.
Seguidores de la capital, Chimaltenango y La Antigua Guatemala también se hicieron presentes para pasar una gran noche con una de las mejores bandas nacionales de Ska.

Hoy la Música de la COMGECEU, la Nuba del Grupo de Regulares de Ceuta Nº 54 y el Coro de Adultos del Conservatorio Ángel García Ruiz unen sus talentos para llevarnos de la mano por esas canciones de “la Mili” que seguro no son del todo desconocidas. Estas fueron cantadas en los Cuarteles, en los Campamentos de Instrucción de la IPS o de la IMEC y hasta en cantinas, sin olvidar la filmografía española de los 70.

The sight of Durham Cathedral, on the horizon, is a familiar sight to regular travellers on the East Coast main line between London and Newcastle. Why not take a break and have a closer look?
Durham railway station is set high on a hill about a 10 minute walk from the City Centre and the pedestrian route involves negotiating a steep staircase.
Fortunately, the number 40 bus route runs every 20 minutes between the station, the city centre, the cathedral and the adjacent castle. This service is fully accessible and a flat rate ticket priced £1 offers unlimited daily travel.
Durham Cathedral is as impressive as it appears from the train. Admission to the main cathedral is free of charge, but there is a charge for guided tours and The Open Treasure Exhibition.
Taking photos is not permitted in the main cathedral but the cloistered quadrangle, leading from the cathedral to the shop and Undercroft restaurant, provides some wonderful photo opportunities. Especially on a sunny day.
The Castle next door is also open to the public but this is by guided tour only. Tours are hourly and are likely to be popular,
While it is only a short down-hill walk from the Castle to the city centre, it is possible to detour, exploring the historic streets and strolling on the riverbank.
The city centre is compact and packed with history. Twenty-first century brands mingle with independent stores and coffee houses on the edge of the thriving market. Alleys and passages reveal hidden gems like Vennels, an ideal stop for coffee and cake.
Prince Bishop River Cruises run sightseeing tours from Elvet Bridge the tour takes an hour. No advance bookings are taken, as fares are collected on the boat.
