Ha Ha just a regular day in Chateau Frontenac Quebec, I took it during travel in Quebec this April, just want to try something different. 這是魁北克城堡酒店中拍的,有一段時間了,頗有味道的酒店大堂和大家分享

The regulars in our local park have been waiting impatiently to see the lone swan couple's five cygnets. And here they are ! Like royalty, she paraded them around the pond, while her mate, the Prince, bullied every other water bird in sight to keep his family safe. This is the best picture I could get of them close up, they were so close to me and all close together. She would have been alarmed had I gone down closer. I hope you like it.

I hope you like the music I've chosen to go with them too - clearly they're both so proud of their new family !

Happy day everyone !

Can you still hear that driveway bell going “ding ding” as you pull in? Then the question from the full service guy asking, “Regular or ethyl?” He cleans your windshield, checks your tires, and off you go!

Native Cockroach (Balta family, poss B. epilamproides)

Our native Cockroaches are not like regular indoor Cockroaches. They are a valuable part of the ecosystem, and do not venture into homes. This is the first I have seen and photographed. I was amazed by its 'lacy' wings.

Happy Wing Wednesday!

No, it is the the Time and Tide Bell near Mablethorpe on the Lincolnshire Coast.. On this vast beach it can be seen for miles but the weather although warm had a featureless almost colourless sky due to haze caused by pollution. I did my best to inject a little more blue into the sky without changing the colour of the bell but its still a little blah..

Nevertheless here it is...I would love to get another photo of this sometime and the beach is beautiful and vast and if you bump into anyone its rare - although the foot prints show that it does have a regular stream of visitors. Two people walking the shoreline in this shot show the scale of this beach ( if you can make their tiny figures out )

It starts ringing as soon as the tide comes in and other bells like it have already been installed at six beaches across the country.

Time and Tide Bell is an art project made up of bells, designed by UK sculptor Marcus Vergette and Australian bell designer Neil McLachlan, installed at coastal locations in the UK. The first one was placed at Appledore, Devon, in 2009 and the seventh at Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire in June 2019

One of my regular diners at The Breakfast Club... all I have to do is play a recording of another male Robin and he does his routine. Sits on the fence and sings, then slowly approaches to see who is invading his space.

We interrupt our regular Fall programming to bring you a freshly emerged Monarch Butterfly. I didn't even know there were any pupae in my yard. He was not ready to fly, still pumping his wings and I think agitated, climbing all over this humongous Pride of Madeira. I had fired the water hose that direction a little while before and probably disrupted wherever he was hanging. The sun had already set when I saw him, but I rushed for camera and ring light for a few snaps. Then I gently let him crawl onto my finger and moved him to a milkweed bloom in a more sheltered corner close to the house. I checked early this morning before I left on a morning outing - he was happily right where I left him, a survivor of the cold night, and he was on his journey somewhere by the time I returned. By the way, he's a he by those 2 smudges on the wings. You can see them too in his closed position.

Lengte trein: 18.48 meter

Bouwjaar: 1911

Vervaardiger: Werkspoor, Amsterdam

This locomotive, called "De Jumbo" appears on the track in 1911 under number SS731, and has been in service for more than half a century. In 1921 he gets the well-known number 3737.

This locomotive has driven approximately 3 million kilometres, making it one of the most successful steam locomotives in the Netherlands. The Jumbo regularly fills in for the newer diesel trains from the 1930s, which regularly do not run due to recurring defects.

The locomotive has twice as much power as its predecessor and is therefore very suitable for express train services.

Because of its size it is nicknamed 'Jumbo'.

The 3737 makes its last regular run on January 7, 1958:

from Geldermalsen to Het Spoorwegmuseum. This is also the last official steam train ride in the Netherlands.

Train length: 18.48 metres

Year built: 1911

Manufacturer: Werkspoor, Amsterdam

A regular walker at my local parklands feeds the birds every morning, he is very well known among the birds and they have particular spots where they stop for a feed, I loved this group of kookaburras this morning and had to stop for a quick snap. There were 5 birds, but one flew away when I started taking photos. I had to laugh the other day at the bush turkey who was pecking his feet while he fed the other birds.

Regular little beautiful Grey Squirrel who visits our local coffee shop car park. Always a pleasure to see him and the other visiting wildlife.

At the moment the reserve at Old Moor holds large numbers of these lovely ducks. Some do breed in Scotland and Northern England but most migrate here from colder climates further north.

This Blue Heron is a regular visitor at my smorgasbord that I fondly call my pond. Sometimes he comes three or four days in a row and then I don't see him for awhile and even though he has seen me dozens of times, he is still very wary and will take flight if I get too close!

Most days', Bob Barnett had a system that usually never failed. He would begin his mornings after getting his coffee at DD's in Woonsocket with P&W's southbound WOPR night job returning late, then jumping over to the Norwich side for WOPL. A quite trip across Rte 6 got him to Willimantic, CT for the arrival of Central Vermont's northbound train 561 headed to Palmer, MA. A completely unexpected visit to Shrewsbury!

This was the day of my visit to Ludlow, and the plan had been to catch the 5pm direct train back to Manchester where we were staying, passing through Shrewsbury and getting back sometime around 7.

Yet again the train service had other plans.

After trudging around Ludlow for five hours without a sit down, I arrived at the small station to find all services north were delayed/cancelled for the evening. In a bit of a panic I saw a bus pull into the station forecourt and thinking it was a replacement service went to investigate but found it was just the regular service to Shrewsbury, so without really thinking, jumped on board.

It turned out to be a stunning journey through the Shropshire Hills, the light and clouds were perfect, and we passed the base of Caer Caradoc, the hill I climbed the next day (under horrible flat light if you've seen my album and read my moans!)

Anyway I found myself in Shrewsbury at 6pm with a lowering sun at at least an hour to kill until the Manchester train (which itself was delayed for yet another hour), so I hurtled around the beautiful town with my camera...finally getting to Manchester at 10.30pm, starving, but with a beautifully flat stomach!

What a day! And Caer Caradoc tomorrow!

LOL.....an old building that Derek and I came across that we are pretty sure was an old gas station. It looks like it was out in the country somewhere, but was in the Detroit area. It says for sale by owner on the boards on the windows!
