This is a photograph from the SSE AIRTRICITY Dublin Marathon which was held in Dublin, Ireland on Bank Holiday Monday 26th October 2015 at 09:00.The Dublin Marathon has been held annually since 1980. The marathon course starts at Fitzwilliam Square in the city center and finishes at Merrion Square. For the past number of years there have been some changes to the configuration of the route at the start and finish due to traffic and transportation infrastructure work around the city center. However the majority of the race proceeds in an anti-clockwise direction around the city passing through the Phoenix Park, Chapelizod, Inchicore, South Circular Road, Walkinstown, Terenure, Clonskeagh, UCD, Stillorgan Dual Carriage Way, Ballsbridge and finishing up Northumberland Road and Mount Street. As always the organisation is first class and this seen just under 13,000 people complete the marathon course.
The weather conditions were not very good for marathon running with runners facing race and windy conditions around much of the course.
Overall the poor weather conditions did not make for very good photographic conditions particularly around the start and finish area where it was a little darker around the tall buildings and streets.

The explaination is very simple.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Refusing War, Affirming Peace offers an intimate view of a single Civilian Public Service Camp, Camp #21 at Cascade Locks, Oregon, one of the largest and longest-serving camps in the system—and one of the most unusual.
Under the leadership of a remarkable director, Rev. Mark Y. Schrock, and some outstanding camp leaders, the men at Camp #21 created a vibrant community. Despite the requisite long days of physical labor, the men developed a strong educational program, published a newspaper and a literary magazine, produced plays and concerts, and participated in a special school and research project called the School of Pacifist Living. They also challenged the Selective Service System in two political protests—one concerning the threatened removal of a Japanese American, George Yamada, and a second concerning a war- related work project. Their story shows the CPS system at its best.
Jeffrey Kovac’s thorough research has resulted in one of the very few histories of a single Civilian Public Service Camp, shedding light on a generation of men who, during the 'good war,' created a community for peace. Refusing War is an important contribution to World War II history, peace studies, and the history of the Pacific Northwest."

International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia (ICTY) has confirmed that there are four mass graves containing the bodies of approximately 320 Srebrenica victims, in Sultanovici / Liplije (Zvornik Municipality). Part of the grave-sites have been used by the Zvornik authorities as a municipal rubbish dump, despite repeated complaints by returnees about the use of this land for this purpose.
Municipal authorities made a rubbish dump out of private land belonging to cleansed Bosniaks who were in the process of clearing their destroyed homes in preparation for permanent return. Municipal trucks reportedly dump between 30 and 35 loads of rubbish a day, all of which was slowly smouldering, causing irreparable damage to the bodies underneath, thereby destroying evidence for use in future war crimes trials related to the Srebrenica massacre.

... this is a planned community that is still growing into all the streets. The county will come by and pave the street when there's enough houses to justify a paved road.

Milan refuses the racist demonstration of the European radical right wings
The terrifying news that in Milan there will be on 5th of April a “political international event” promoted by Forza Nuova is circulating on web since weeks. During this meeting there will be the participation of the BNP (British National Party), of the FN (Front National) and of the NPD (Nationaldemokratische Partei Deutschlands), which represent the European radical right wings, together with the Italian Forza Nuova.
It is known, and also declared by themselves, the racist, xenophobic, homophobic and negationist position of these organizations: the symbology, the languages and the initiatives frequently refer without ambiguity to the neo-Nazi's culture, ideas and values.
Just to tell something about Forza Nuova, no less than the former Italian president Francesco Cossiga himself required the “dissolution of Forza Nuova” because of “the constitutional prohibition of recreates the fascist party on the basis of the ordinary laws” (Corriere della Sera 25/4/2001).
So, while in Italy people are preparing demonstrations to celebrate the 25th of April, as not only the end of the war but also as the day of the liberation from the fascist dictatorship, Milan “gold medal for the partisan resistance” is risking to be transformed into the capital of the European Nazism.
As antifascists, we believe in the democratic principles and values and in the freedom guaranteed by our Constitution.
Our Constitution, freedom, democracy and the respect of human rights, which are the foundation of social and civil pact of our community, are the compass that let us understand the dangerous underestimation of those organizations and their activities, which arrogantly deny the Constitution, recalling to hate and discrimination among human being and showing an authoritarian conception of the political power, with inspiration to Nazism and Fascism.
For these reason we want to speak to all men and women of the city of Milan, democratic and antifascist; we want to speak to institutions, associations, volunteers, unions and parties and ask them to sign this appeal in order to deny hospitality at the initiative promoted by Forza Nuova in our city.
