This curved mirror is outside the Art Science museum in Singapore. It gives a very 3d reflection. I actually thought at first there was a lily pad on the mirror because the leaf was sticking out from the mirror and flapping in the breeze. The effect is quite amazing.
This truck caught my eye as I was driving to Ely the other day. I noticed it was facing westward, and thought it could make for an interesting sunset photo. It was a cloudily, gloomy day so I figured I would save this shot for another day. But as the evening drew closer, the clouds broke apart and I could tell a beautiful sunset was coming. These days the sun is setting around 7:45, which isn't very convenient in our house. My husband typically gets home around 7, and we eat during that hour. But he was as supportive as always, and we pushed dinner back an hour so I could go grab this shot.

Captured in the vibrant core of downtown Philadelphia, the building's reflective facade reveals the silhouettes of its historic neighbors. This image offers a window into the past, illustrating the city's evolution, much like an elder observing the fresh energy of a new generation. It encapsulates the dynamic transformation and continuous growth that define urban life.

Oregon vehicle registration plates are becoming easier to read at night with more reflective background sheeting (right). DMV will start issuing the standard tree plates with the new material in October.
DMV’s plate vendor, Portland-based Irwin-Hodson, is using new 3M™ HD License Plate Sheeting.
The new HD sheeting is more reflective, secure and durable than the previous material.
The previous plate sheeting used tiny pieces of round glass beads inside other materials to produce reflectivity, which shines outward like a floodlight. The new sheeting is “prismatic” or “high-definition” sheeting. It is similar to road signs, which appear brighter at night.
After having built my own lens hood and mini-softbox (before buying anything) I decided to put a broken umbrella to good use today. I simply taped plain printer paper to the inside, sawed off part of the handle and stuck it in the grip of my tripod.
Strobist info: 430 EX II at 1/4 into self-made umbrella, left high above subject. Triggered using Phottix Tetra. Lens is a Canon EF-S 18-200mm at 100mm/F8.0.

This is a poster that we prepared in advance and had multiple reusable copies made (users write messages/key words on post-its and then stick them to the relevant area of the poster). The reflective body map can be used as a way of getting instant feedback - on, for example, an event, a meeting, a project.... The poster is divided up into six sections representing; things that made me think, things I've seen with new eyes, things I want to shout about, things I found hard to stomach, heartfelt issues and next steps, ie what am I going to do having attended this session/meeting/completed this task, etc. This is good method of steering people into giving more useful and specific feedback.
This tool can also be left up for longer periods of time for use in projects (rather than in individual sessions) in order to collect detailed feedback as things progress.
A stick figure drawn on a piece of flip chart paper can be just as effective - you don't have to be able to draw, nor do you need to print posters like this.

This is two surfers waxing their boards on the island thing that formed. It almost looks like they're kneeling on the water!
I only have two beach photos left. I'll upload em tomorrow. :)
I might go to the beach again this Sunday. Haha either that or I might possibly have a shoot booked! I'm still working things out. I have about 6-7 people interested in having me do photography work for them (5 familes already want pictures done!). And someone (who is not engaged yet) mentioned that her and her boyfriend would be interested in me doing their wedding!
I'm listening to Say by John Mayer. His voice is so heavenly.
