"I never got the chance to paint my devoted mother from life; but through my childhood I would make drawings of her, along with other family members and the world around me. This painting, made on her birthday and the 25th anniversary of her passing, was inspired by my memory and a study that I made in oil pastels of my mother in 1978 when I was 13. Most photographs show my mother smiling lovingly with vivacity - and indeed she was full of joy- but here I remember her reflective and dreamy side of her nature. I am uploading this on what is Mothers' Day in the UK....God Bless all mothers." Sunday, 2 March 2008.

It was an early spring in the Canadian Rockies this year. The Vermillion Lakes had long since lost their covering of ice and snow.

Freedom Balloon Festival - Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina

Had a great time watching all of the hot air balloons yesterday! It was my first time ever being near a hot air balloon. I have actually never really seen one in person either. They were awesome! I love this shot of a pilot getting his balloon ready! The reflective light is really pretty!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Before Tim and I headed to Beachy Head we couldn't resist getting some shots of the pier at Eastbourne.

The melting snow around Brooklyn has created some large puddles which in turn create some awesome imagery.
